I pose the same question as the title, if you could change one moment in history, just to see how it plays out, what would it be. This would not be permanent, so our world would not be changed, but you do get to see what happens. So I ask you again, what would it be?

EDIT: Clarification, try to be realistic, no offence, but something that could have happened

EDIT 2: This will not happen, this allows you to see what happens

Stop John Lenon from ever meeting Yoko Ono, that is the change I would make

I would stop the formation of Religions.

Not because I want to see religion itself eliminated, but rather, because I would like to see the progression of the societal concept of morality, and how it would evolve (possibly under a different name) without the concept of God.

Napoleon conquers Russia and returns to drive Britain out, giving France control of the European continent.

I'd like to see where the English would go. Would they crush the U.S. in a mass exodus and occupation with their surviving troops?

The Mongols make it past Hungary and also manage to take Japan. I want to see what would happen if they hadn't been checked by them.

Heheh, another one of those? Seriously the US Revolution had to be one of the most "progressive" things of the time. If you think all the US stands for is oppression, then you should have seen times back then...probably would be working on a plantation paying your master for your little section of land which is the only source of food, wealth, and homage that you have. And you still gotta rent it!

You presume I hate the US and wish it gone. I do not. I consider myself rather patriotic and pro-America. Which is why I dislike when the US does bad shit, just as a good friend hates seeing their buddy do something wrong and tries to get them to stop.
But it would be nice to see if the world would be better or worse without the US. For all the shit we get, the world witohut the US might be even worse.

Go back in time to stop Einstein from going back in time so that I can have my parachuting bears.

Kudos for the reference.

while i agree it would be awesome to see a well funded Tesla (death rays, earthquake machines, and wireless electricity oh my!)

Issac newton never had the apple fall on his head that was a myth created later

Newton himself often told the story that he was inspired to formulate his theory of gravitation by watching the fall of an apple from a tree.Cartoons have gone further to suggest the apple actually hit Newton's head, and that its impact somehow made him aware of the force of gravity, though this is not reported in the biographical manuscript by William Stukeley, published in 1752, and made available by the Royal Society
