Lets just say you were directing the sequel to any game you want. What would you change? what new features would you add? Would it be a AAA game or an underated one.

Personally, I would choose to make a sequel to The Tenchu Series. It has great potential, I would have the Dev team add "assasin's Creed" styled climbing with "splinter Cell Conviction" styled sneaking. Just Thinking of the Idea makes me Drool.

But enough about me, What game would you want a sequel to, and what features would you possibley add/remove from it?

Legacy of Kain - I will bring Tony Jay back from the dead (maybe just a ghost - we need the voice after all), bribe Amy Henning with an island and let her come and finish this thing.

Might and Magic - I'd like to finally have a sequel here. It would be much fun especially with the technology we have today...not to mention that the games didn't look even look great when they came out either. But yeah, I'll make a long postponed ninth part and set it in Ashan (duh). It'll have the classical "You control several characters which move as one" and I might set it around H6 in the timeline. In fact, why not have it afterwards at the time the people discover and start to make use of the other precious resources - this lays a lot of ground for political maneuvering around the deposits and lots of opportunity to fight people.

My first immediate thought is a new NiGHTS game. I thought Journey of Dreams was a pretty decent sequel, especially considering it was 10+ years after the initial hit, and if Sega wasn't in the financial shape that it's in I'd be hoping that the series would continue.

First and foremost, I'd keep the crazy bosses. No doubt, they were some of the best parts in both games. As for the rest of the game, I'd tone down on the mini-game feel that Journey had, maybe divide each stage into 3 lengthy sequences, each with their own little quest or something. This would also avoid having to re-use missions every frigging level. *coughOctopodcough*

As for the story, I'd focus more on the rivalry between NiGHTS and Reala, maybe even detail of their relationship prior to NiGHTS's betrayal. Maybe somehow make it a parallel to the kids' stories. While I applaud Journey for trying to implement a full-length story into the game, the best (and pretty much only interesting) parts were when Reala showed up.

I'd make a sequel to Red Dead Redemption. I'd have to retcon the minor quest where you kill Ross as Jack- I think the quest was too short and insignificant. I'd make the game about Jack getting vengeance on Ross. I guess it could get repetitive, but I think in RDR playing as a criminal seemed wrong for John's character; as Jack getting revenge it would fit more naturally.

Also, move to another state, or perhaps have New Austin more developed (it would be set in 1914, so perhaps adding a few more modern touches). Although in RDR the 'old west' is supposed to be dying, it does still feel pretty much like the old west should. I wouldn't necessarily design the sequel as a 'western' game; Jack could be written as a cowboy out of place in a more developed world.

Duke Nukem in Escape From Development Hell

The game would pick up immediately following the end of Duke 3D, with Duke being dragged into a hellish alternate dimension. This is Development Hell, where game franchises go to die, and Duke must run and gun his way through the ruins of dead and forgotten game franchises to escape.

Gameplay would be unashamedly retro - lots of guns, lots of health, lots of enemies. No cover, no regenerating health, no QTEs.

That sounds awesome! I'm itching for a ninja game that plays realistically as opposed to being full of magic and hookshots. I actually really liked the Tenchu game they put on PSP for that reason - you were stealthing around because a samurai would cut you in half if he saw you. Ninja games tend to make you feel TOO badass, I want something where I'm sneaking and using a handful of tools to complete a mission.

Anyway, I'd make Beyond Good and Evil 2, since apparently Ubisoft isn't. Instead of the Zelda dungeon-crawling elements, I'd make a few Assassin's Creed-style cities, full of side quests and mini-games to collect items/upgrades. I'd focus more on parkour (like the leaked video) than combat, mostly for the purpose of sneaking around on rooftops to catch photo evidence of corruption. In fact, most of the cities you have access to have a lot wrong with them politically, by doing some investigative journalism and publishing photographs, the city responds to your actions and changes. BGE had a cool enough design and atmosphere that I wouldn't even focus on aliens this time - I'd prefer to keep it local.

Aliens vs predator 2010

I would make it a direct sequel to aliens vs predator 2.
I would remove the stupid wolverine blades double wrist blades, only one arm has wrist blades.
I would add proper lan support.
The aliens would resemble the aliens from the films ALIEN and ALIENS.
The sound effects would come from all the films except the avp films and some sfx would come from Aliens vs predator 2 and its expansion pack.
The alien controls will be more user friendly and not give you carpel tunnel syndrome.
The default predator and marine designs will be that of the alien/predator films (NOT AVP THE FILMS).
Classic maps from the first PC games will be remade in HD.
The story will not play out like fanfiction.
Predators will no longer decloak from attacking, taking any damage whatsoever will decloak them instead (especially bullets)and the very well made cloaking system of the current avp 2010 game that had effectiveness depending on the predator's movement speed and distance will still be used.
The special kills will not remove player control and will not take forever and result in endless rows of player after player killing the other from behind because the special kill takes forever to complete.
More varied maps will be implemented.
Predalien will look more like a xenomorph and not have dreadlocks.
I could go on and on and on but it's mostly small aesthetic things that would change.

I'd take over the production of the next Elder Scrolls Game. I'd get them to write a couple thousand years of post-Skyrim history evolving Tamriel to a modern era roughly equivalent in technological level to ours.

Swords, magic, dragons, elves, etc would all still be around and there would be all sorts of neat combinations of mythical and magical elements with technology.

Gameplay-wise it would be the same as Skyrim, though with the addition of things like guns and cars.

I'd love to make a sequel to Starfox.

On rails, only in space, upgradeable ship, all cast returning from 64, branching paths (with different bosses rather than rejoining at the end), missions change depending on which of the crew survives, optional side missions to save slippy and gang if they get taken out (which are different depending on which stage you lost them on and which character you lost) and finally (and most importantly)
16 player online multiplayer with detailed maps to evade opposition rather than open areas like 64 maps, upgradeable ships (think upgrade system similar to COD)

This is the game i'm still waiting for from nintendo, which is why I haven't bought a brand new console from them since 64 (I did buy the gamecube once the Wii was out and will buy the Wii when the U comes out)
It's one of my favourite games of all time and I can't believe they are struggling to make a good game out of the franchise, hopefully Retro is working on this now, we can only hope

Timesplitters 4.
And then I would make an advert that says
"Only fags and terrorists play COD and FIFA, play Timesplitters 4."
And all the jock/hipster gamers would play a good game.

In all seriousness the Timesplitters formula could make one hell of a good multiplayer FPS. In fact the third (and final) one did have online multiplayer and it was bloody fantastic.
If it had been released after online multiplayer got big then the series would still be going I think.

I'm glad someone said that. I'm a huge fan of Lylat Wars.

I think I'm the only person who didn't mind slippy. She was always just one of the team. I know slippy is male but for the longest time I thought she was a she so I always refer to her as a she.

You should buy it for the 3DS. New voice acting is a downside but it looks awesome.

It almost looks as good as Billy Dee.

Lylat Wars? another british Star Fox lover?

Yeah I liked slippy, for me he was like your younger brother (or sister) in the game who was too ambitious and always getting into trouble.

I fucking HATED falco though, I used to deliberately shoot him down at the start of the mission to get rid of him lol

I would get it but that would require a 3DS and i'm broke as a joke. Plus I RARELY buy remakes, graphics aren't important to me (I grew up with a NES, it's ALL about gameplay)

Id probably make a Mercenaries 3, just b/c the first one was great and deserves a non-shit successor.

-Ill aim for music similar to the first mercenaries.
-Make the characters less shit. Give them more depth than just having a rager for money.
-Fix the physics engine
-Add more dynamic missions

Bam, got youself a betselling sandbox right thur.

Timesplitters 4

Focus on variety, story could take a backseat like it did in TS2 since TSFP wrapped everything nicely.

The humor should also be present obviously but I think that what makes the meat of the series is the costumization so it would be cool to have a lot of maps, guns and characters. If possible a character creator and a gun creator where you could set a shitload of properties like fire rate, reload time, ammo type, etc... and the look of it (imagine Spore but with guns),then use it on private matches or upload it online and wait for aproval (due to balancing) and use it in a specific playlist with costum weapons made by the community.

With those editors say goodbye to DLC abuse having DLC only for more specific maps, characters and guns that are too complex for the editors(and bring new assets for the editors within each DLC to bring even more content to the table).

Basicly make a game to last a shitload of time, with the cartoony visuals it wouldnt even age visually
