Free markets. moderately progressive tax-system and Central Bank is charged with using monetary policy to maximize long-term growth (as opposed to inflation controlling in EU central bank or stability control in Federal Reserve). Keynesianism is right out, and instead we adopt a monetarist approach. Tariffs are kept extremely low (if there are any at all). Property taxes are progressive and relatively high, capital gains tax is low, and income tax is low.
4. The Northern Republic of America. For-profit scientific research institutions would have a 0% tax on income, with no subsidy (incentive for companies to relocate).
5. Personal property rights, weapons ownership, free religion, free speech, voting rights, and other individual liberties.
6. No state religion.
The nation would have a very limited standing army capable primarily of defense. Military force would be supplemented through Status of Force Agreements (SOFAs), which would improve foreign relations since other countries would see us as a regional ally and trustworthy neighbor.
