Guten morgen, Herr Escapist

I was thinking about games and american elections and had another idea:

If you could make any videogame character the leader of your respective country, which and why?

May it be Duke Nukem as the president of the states or Yuri calling the shots in Eastern Europe, how do you imagine their reign?

Personally, JC Denton would make a great leader here in Russia. The man is liturate, physically adept, doesn't need body guards, is skilled in technology, has a background in history and diplomacy. Just imagine the modernization project he has up his sleeve.

The one and only, Big Boss. He's a very charismatic leader who can convince almost anyone to join his cause, not to mention he's also a 1-man army.

Question. Are you talking about JC Denton out of context, Illuminati JC Denton or Helios JC Denton? Just curious.

OT: Hm...tricky one. If i had to say anyone, I would probably say Anderson from Mass Effect. Depending on the playthrough, he has had experience with politics, and I'm a believer in the old mindset of power belongs to those who don't seek it, but find it given to them and find that they can do great good with it. My second choice would be The King from Fallout New Vegas.

If not, Senator Armstrong. At least I agree with him about the bullshit that's twisting America. Even if I disagree with him 100% on what we should do about it.

Burt Reynolds was Mayor of Steelport in Saint's Row The Third. Can we put Burt in charge?

If that's not good enough, how about the Pipboy? He has the Strength, the Perception, the Endurance, the Charisma, the Intelligence, the Agility, and the Luck. He's just so SPECIAL!

Sure, you can only do one, but still, they are both pretty impressive.

Geralt of Rivia

Pro-choice? Pro-life? Doesn't matter, he'll turn all the aborted babies into Lubberkins
Tired of toxic politics? He's got natural toxicity resistance
Foreign policy? Whatever as long as everyone gets paid
Cleverness? The man is a Gwent Grandmaster

He has friends among all races. He is an advocate for protecting endangered wildlife. He supports the arts (or at least keeps the arts from dying). Knows a thing or two about radical changes. He always tries to help the little guys. Can literally sense bullshit. Difficult to assassinate. He's smart because he has two swords... in case the other one breaks.

Geralt of Rivia for POTUS, his platform? "Killing Monsters"

Uriel Septim, since he is willing to die for his people, something I dont think most rulers would do and get shit done. Plus he is for deporting illegal Dremora, cause they come here and take our souls!

Or Dynasty Warrior's version of Cao Cao, with Liu Bei as his VP. Without an Empire to fight over, they would balance each other pretty well I think.

My character from Fallout: New Vegas. Cause she actually goes out and personally helps everyone, is very diplomatic, and willing to keep the NCR in line, the Legion at bay, and keep megalomaniacs out of power.

Princess Zelda.

Now hear me out on this. Obviously, my country would become a monarchy as soon as she takes over, because she is a princess. And a monarchy with a benelovent ruler who puts the people first would actually be a pretty nice place to live in. Princess Zelda is shown in all the games where she actually rules shit (yes, all two of them) to be a goodhearted, but also pragmatic and smart leader.

But looking at it realisticly, I would settle for being ruled by a smart despot like the Patrician from the discworld novels. He was evil, yes, but he wasn't stupid about it. He knew the best way to stay in power was to keep shit stable, keep the normal people happy by providing safety. Someone like Trump wouldn't even get near his palace, not even to clean the toilets. As for Clinton... well let's just say he keeps the assassin guild around for a reason.

Well, Zelda does have issues dealing with occult conspiracies brewing behind her back in most of her incarnations. You'd think that after centuries of reincarnation she might have done something about that.

Thinking about it, imagine the Empreror of Man as leader that has to deal with checks and balances and give boring speeches to elderly people and lobbyists.

So a character of your nation? Because as an Australian......well....crap? Mad Max? Sniper? Junkrat?

These are....options.

Was about to say this myself, A good karma independent New Vegas Courier. My personal one was actually set up even in the base game as someone who could have destroyed Lanius ten times over yet and was still guaranteed to convince him to leave, and did.

Optimus Prime (original generation) for president with Ultra Magnus for VP! Ironically a venerable alien robot cares more about humanity than most actual humans do.

Adam Jensen (post DE: MD) might be funny.
"I never asked for this."
"No Mr President. BUT THE PEOPLE ASKED FOR YOU."

As for the Brits, ever considered Lara Croft for Prime Minister? Well spoken, highly educated, well traveled and with a deep appreciation of history, she is probably a better choice than half of the people on the benches in Westminster.

Freddy Fish. Based on her experience detailed in the records under the name 'Freddy fisha and the case of the missing kelp seeds' we know much about her. She is a problem solver, a diplomatic powerhouse who can convince threathening sharks to share kelp seeds with everyone. She understands the economy and is able to feed the population based on sound agricultural policy. She is also a good role model for children. Vote Freddy Fish.

I would also nominate Arkantos from age of mythology for minister of defense.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
Princess Celestia, she was in a mobile game, it still counts. We know that she can keep a country together for a thousand years, not many current countries can say that. It is time for our first magical horse president.

The only problem is you'd probably need to tie him up and drag him kicking and screaming into the white house if you wanted him to be a president. He hates politics about as much as he hates portals.

On the other hand, I'd love to see him run against Vessemir, or better yet, see Vessemir run against Dandelion.

Well, Boss from the Saints Row series already has experience as President. Granted, her ratings are plummeting at the time of the alien invasion, but that's more because of speaking from her ego, which would at least provide more actual entertainment than what the election currently is.

On the flip side, I'm not sure the ramifications of having the President being someone so evil that Satan wants her to marry his daughter would be. Oh well, at least she isn't driving on the sidewalk anymore. She also apparently has the power to either end hunger or cure cancer, and if I have to deal with four years of having to watch strippers during the State of the Union add...Actually, yeah, MAKE BOSS PRESIDENT!

I'm so tempted to say someone who is a silent protagonist/character here ;D

On a more serious note, the kings/queens/leaders from the Fire Emblem series might be good choices?
