Gallipoli: I like Australian history. Well, at least from 1901-1945. It'd also be nice to see it for my own two eyes. And puke afterwards from the bloodshed.

Kokoda: Again, for my interests, as well as the tactics used by the 'chocos' to fend off the Japanese.

D-day: I'd actually like to see D-day not bastardised by movies and TV. Pure, unadulterated D-day, free from any countries interpretation of it.

The dropping of Fatman and Little Boy: This event caused so much destruction, not only in terms of lives lost, but it also heralded an age of fear, and age where pressing the wrong button would mean that humanity would cease to exist. Pure curiosity wants me to see it.

Indian Independence (specifically Ghandi): I'm talking about what led up to India's (and Pakistan's) independence. I'd like to see how Ghandi used peace to achieve his goals, and how it was a success.

Martin Luther Kings speech - It would be heartbreaking though knowing i couldn't save him otherwise it could interfere with the space time continuum.

The creation of the universe - I would take a camera as well and take pictures, though i doubt anyone would believe me that i took a picture of the Big Bang, they would just think i was THAT good at Photoshop lol.

They have a restaurant for that, Wlkn... :p

I wouldn't mind watching the creation or end of the universe

Maybe Christ's crucifixion or ascension

Any point in time where the direct evolution of a species occurs, maybe see part of the Cambrian explosion...

can't think of anything else

It would be so hard to get the exposure right though, WlknCntrdiction.

I have no idea what I would watch. Maybe the signing of the Magna Carta. Important part of history, and I've always wanted to go to England. Or maybe the enlightenment of Siddartha; that would be really cool to see.

Yes, thank you Wlkn for reminding me of that. It would be nice to see Martin Luther King's speech. "I have a dream...".

The fall of the Byzantine empire. The last bastion of the civilised world falls to the muslims. Worst. Historical. Moment. Ever.

20th of July 1969 I would like to be hiding in the sea of tranquillity in lunar camouflage and watch Mr Armstrong take humankind's first tentative steps onto this planets natural satellite.

Martin Luther (the monk) nailing his tennants on the church doors of Wittenberg and basicly creating the seperation of church and state by doing so.

I'd watch myself learning to speak. I know it's probably narcissistic, but it's something I could never have any knowledge of otherwise.

It wasn't that interesting really. I'd rate the South East Coast Hurricane as much more amusing.

And Michael Buerk having a pop afterwards.

Prehaps the true human has not been born yet.

I would like to see the Fall of Berlin from the perspective of the Russians.

The fall of the Mayan civilization. No one knows what happened and if I saw it first hand I could come back and pretend to be an awesome Indiana Jones type brilliant archeaoligist (or however that's spelled).

The Pyramids being built.
I'd love to know how they did it.

Or,
The Collossus of Rhodes.

But really I'd like to see the distant future (hey, it'll be history to somebody)

Perhaps the destruction of Hiroshima with the first A-bomb used as a weapon. Obviously under circumstances in which I wouldn't be caught in the blast as well.

My reasons for this choice are more out of curiosity than anything. I've always wondered what a real nuclear detonation was like to observe, praticularly one that occurs in an actual city. There would be a fair bit of opportunity for reflection too, I should think.

I sure as hell wouldn't forget it.
