... What would be the first law that you would create or change?

I think I would pass a law that creates a maximum salary for people who play professional sports. In the UK top of the class professional football (soccer) players can make up to around £75,000/$120,000 a week (David Beckham at one point made £150,000/$240,000 a week).

Although I believe in Capitalism to a certain extent; The idea that someone who effectively gets paid for kicking a ball around gets that kind of money, when those who work to keep the population alive (Doctors and Nurses) are put into debt due to Medical school, and then stuck on a low pay-grade for years is sickening.

I'd institute a law that requires you to retake your driving test every 5 years. SAo many people say that if they had to take it again they'd fail. If that's true they shouldn't be on the road.

I'd ban stupidity (as in not having sufficient education) from people in charge.

Someone get's elected as a member of the parliament, they have to take a test regarding basic psychology, physics, chemistry, economy, history, mathematics, energy production and priciples behind modern devices. Failing any test would result in a week or so of remedial lessons in the subject before re-taking the test. Until the test is passed, you would not be officially a representitive of the people.

EDIT: After a limit of, say three or four times, taking the test and failing, the nomination as a member of the parliament would be cancelled and the next man/women in line from the same party would get the position instead.

7: Go on a massive renewable energy campaign by giving Farmers grants for setting up wind farms.
