If you were in a work of fiction

Where would you be? And let's make one thing clear: I don't want you saying "I would be Superman!" because I'm not asking about if you were anyone else. I'm assuming you would be you, exactly as you are. Except obviously, if you were in a 18th century novel you wouldn't remember the present, because to you that wouldn't exist.

In what fictional work (movie, comic, novel, etc.) would you fit best? Let me make one thing clear: You wouldn't replace any character already there. All the regulars in, say, Halo, would still be there, but you would be with them now.

If you're an English excentric, you might fit in a Dickens novel.

If you are manly and like to drink, perhaps a Hemingway story.

If you're an energetic teen, maybe a Generation X or Runaways comic book would suit you best.

Anyone who loves breaking into song spontaneously and weating fetishy clothing would fit pretty well in The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

(Video Games are allowed too, of course.)

The only rule everyone must follow is this: You must be honest about whether you would feel out of place to the readers/watchers/players. If you sing awfully you can't say you would fit well in a musical except in the background, and since I hate fighting I'm not allowed to be in the Iliad, where there's tons of fighting. So only works where you'd fit in.

Me? I'd be in the manga Genshiken.

I'd wanna be in a Sharpe novel (Bernard Cornwell) Sharpe seems to get up to some pretty cool stuff, would be awesome to hang around with him and the Green Jackets, defeating Napoleon, being heroic, chillin' with the Duke of Wellington and seducing wenches. :D

I'd love to say something like Oblivion, seeing as archery and swordfighting are great fun. But I doubt I'd survive.

Considering my general attitude to life and the world, I'll have to go with Lancre from the Discworld. I've always been a country person, living with only a handful of neighbours, and I'm a little bit crazy so I think I'd fit right in.

I'd quite like to be in The Covenant, but knowing me I'd more likely be in a Stephen Leather book, as one of the victims...

My head hurts now. You made me think, for shame.

I would love to see myself as some form of space marine.

Never happen though.

But the real question, what do I see myself as? I have no bloody idea.

According to my friends, I'd fit into 'The Addams Family' as a crazy relative.
I'm not sure personally

I'd want to be the Doctor's companion, so I got to travel in the TARDIS. Anywhere in time and space...

Also Sophie's World would be fun, 'cause they trick The Author and escape.

I'd love to live in a novel set in the 1300-1400s or be in Stephen King's The Stand as one of the people from the Zone.

I would have to say I would be a mage in Oblivion. I would rise up the ranks of the mages guild, then build me a tower overlooking either Cheydenhall or Skingrad, and then practice my magic in the tower.

this may sound weird, but i'd like to be in neighbours. not just in the show, but in the actual world. where it's the norm for ten relationships to rise and fall in the space of a couple of weeks. My main reason?: so i could point out to them how absurd most of this stuff is. a single street doesn't usually run in with a maniac or serial killer, let alone ten or twenty in the course of the entire show. Also, i would be able to tell people to snap out of their bullshit, let the guy have his child, who cares if your ***** went to london, you can go too.

bring on the "Ha ha you watch neighbours!" comments.

Captain Bland's Monotonous Adventure, for the Wii.
Cookies to whoever gets the reference.

But seriously? It has been said that I'd fit in in Russia because I'm so damn quiet when not among friends.

I guess either in Mystery Science Theater 3000, Rocky Horror Picture Show, or Grand Theft Auto 4.

So you'd be in the game thread game thread game? From a book I wouldn't mind being in an Alex Rider/James bond book there's a good chance where ever you are in the world you'll see something blow up.

In terms of which book I'd suit I'm not sure. For video games i think oblivions universe (cyrodill) would be cool; something for everyone I'm sure i'd find something to do (and do well)

Yup, same here, which is why I love living in Finland. You can go the entire day without saying anything, as long as you don't absolutley need to know something. I once went two full days without speaking to anyone but myself, and I even went to the shop a few times since I forgot to buy what everything I was after. Granted, it was a test on how long I could do it, but nonetheless.

But enough of that, when I do speak, I can be quite random, so I'm thinking I'd fit pretty well into Nordenburg from Overlord II.
