If you're on a serious budget, you really should use Paint.net (or GIMP if you're willing to learn) but yeah. If you use GIMP though, make sure to get the legendary Resynthesizer add-on to have GIMP auto-fill a selected portion of an image based on its surroundings. I use it all the damn time and it's so awesome.
