I'm an ex-brony. No, this is not just another Pony thread. Okay, it is, kinda...

I currently have the first episode of MLP:FiM loading on Youtube, and I'm kinda having trouble bringing myself to press play. See, I haven't watched a single MLP episode since back when Season Two wasn't a thing.
That was a very, very long time ago.
It was around about the point where I was slapping ponified Mass Effect characters all over the Ask Commander Shepard thread that I realised, deep down, I was still a brony. I'm just having trouble bringing that loving and tolerating persona out to play.
Normally this is where you'd sell the show to a non-brony and complain about the overabundance of ponies on the Escapist. But this time there's a difference: you have to sell season two to what was once an avid fan of season one. And complain about the overabundance of ponies on the Escapist.

Yet there isn't an overabundance of ponies on the internet, it's died down because so many people got pissed of. You're being melodramatic, if you want to watch MLP THEN FUCKING WATCH MLP! If you don't, THEN FUCKING DON'T! Don't worry about what other people are doing, and just do whatever the fuck you want to. Being a brony won't hurt anyone, and neither will not being one. I would say go watch season 2, seeing as it's bloody brilliant. But if you don't want to then that's f'ing fine.

This is so melodramatic.

It's like you're in the pony closet or something.
For once once I agree with you in the area of ponies.

This is a prime example of why bronies occasionally manage to rustle me.

I mean, seriously. Bronies are the only people that will open a thread just to say this.

Look dude - and I'm not trying to flame you here, it's just my honest opinion - if you like it, watch it, if you don't, don't, and for the love of God, if you make a thread about it, twiddle on the drama meter before you do it.

But after all, this is a forum so I guess that's what it's here for. I'll tolerate it. I just won't love it ;)
But he's not a brony, oh no no. He's an "ex brony" which makes him better than all of us. But yeah, I agree with you for once about an issue relating to bronies. We may have our difference, but we can both agree that people who make threads about bronies that don't fucking need to be made are bad.

Dude you're not the only one, no not me but Caramel Frappe was the first to lose interest toward the shows (as far as I know) and yet he didn't make a thread about losing his interest (well he mention it in a thread but the thread wasn't about that).

A brony just means fan right?

Is it like a secret way of saying I am a My Little Pony fan in public without being ridiculed? Other then that I never really got it. It is probably just a fad. Like a secret hand shake for special people that all like the same thing.

Anyway....if you are in the closet about being a pony lover, then I don't know, get over it? Everyone loves the damn things these days.

You either like something or you don't, simple as that. I get laughed on the public train when I am watching anime on my laptop, but I ignore it. It only means I am stronger on the inside them people like that. Don't be ashamed of who you are.

No Caramel didn't lose interest in the show, he actually watched all of season 2 and will probably watch season 3 when it's out. He still has an MLP avatar. He just doesn't consider himself a brony, which in my eyes is like a person going to a fancy dress party, eating the food and drinking the drinks yet not wanting to dress up because it might make them "look bad".

You may want to take a rain check at his avatar, he change it to something else (it's a hoodie character from Blazeblue I think?)

A brony is just someone who watches and enjoy the show, nothing more nothing less. Also, I agree that he shouldn't be in the closet about watching it because it's just a fucking show and he should deal with it. But I don't agree that it's just a fad, Justin Bieber was a fad, Rebecca Black was a fad, Bronies are not just a simple fad. A fad normally goes by in about a year, with everyone of forgotten about it soon after. Yet bronies are still going strong after 2 seasons, and aren't showing any signs of dying out. So yeah, we're not a fad at all. Seeing as we've been around for long, have got more than just people liking it for the irony and have established ourselves as one of the biggest internet communities. You wouldn't say the Escapist forums are a fad? So why would you say bronies are a fad.

Not trying to flame, just getting my opinion across. I personally love being a brony, but I'm perfectly fine with people not liking it. Because well, it's just a bloody show and in the long run it doesn't really matter.

Ahh, but my point still stands. He had an avatar of Chrysalis sipping a smoothie that he obviously made himself, meaning he knew about her and must of watched the season finale. So yeah, he's a fucking brony because he watches the fucking show.

I'm a devoted brony myself, but did this really warrant a thread?

I hereby declare this thread to be all discussion related to King Henry VIII!

I have to admit, that attitude of his is starting to annoy me a bit. Someone who makes GIF avatars of the show's characters and watches the show is sufficiently invested in the community to be a brony, in my eyes. But he refuses that moniker so he can feel morally superior and keep banging on about how terrible the brony community is because of some puritanical morons treating R34 artists badly. Whatever happened to not judging a group by the vocal minority?

OT: Also, dude, for the love of all that is holy, hit that play button. You will not be disappointed. Don't let other people's opinions keep you from enjoying what you do.

And cares enough to make said avatar to represent his liking of the show.

Kinda like me saying I'm not an Okami fan :D

Yeah, I didn't give up on the brony community when I saw that fucking Lyra plushie (fucking in a literal sense), neither did I when I saw that dickwad who never got the holocaust until some other tard added ponies into it. Because those are... THREE PEOPLE, the entire Tiarawhy debacle was the fault of TWO people, the brony community at large had no say in it.

It's like Star Trek-fans being "Trekkies", really, or Harry Potter fans being "Potterheads" (which sounds fucking retarded, but whatever).

OT: Why would I need to sell Season 2 to you? Just watch it if you want to. It's not that hard, dammit.

Yeah, it's like hanging a British flag during the world cup, going down the pub to watch it and then saying "Oh no no no, I'm not a football fan because of the hooligans! Oh my goodness those hooligans! I can't believe how terrible football fans are!" It just reeks of trying to get the higher ground and hypocrisy.
