My friends have told me to cheer up. A lot easier said than done. Long story short, I'm depressed.
Things really, really haven't gone my way. Public humiliation, the only girl I've liked tore me a new one, a little more public humiliation, and a horrid amount of self-doubt and pity. I tried playing some CoD:MW2 to cheer me up. I started playing, but half-way through I turned off the console, set the controller down and didn't give it a second thought. Last i tried some laughter. Watched all of The Hangover. Not one chuckle.

Escapsists, I need some inspiration and cheering up. Do your good deed for the day.

If you need to talk, I will listen to you. That may be all I can do for you, but sometimes that can help you feel better. :)

I hope everything turns around for you.

I actually know exactly how you feel, more or less...

The best advice I can give you is to work through it on your own and find the light yourself; you'll be much better for it in the long run.

Drugs, masturbation, sex, self-mutilation, murder and assault.

Pick and choose any combination!

Sleep also helps. But some of the above options are more fun for those who watch the news.

Um, buy a new game, but, BUT, if you can, get a multiplayer one and play with some good mates or with some people here.

That will at least help you distact yourself :)

Go do something fun or calming, like going hiking, fishing, screwing around with your friends. Don't worry, this feeling will pass when your ready, I know...

That, and somebody ALWAYS has it worse then you.

Depression plagues me constantly. Finding something to bring you out of it canbe hard..
You could try watching some stand-up comedy. That never fails to cheer me up. Especially if it's someone like Dara O'Briain.

Oh believe me, I feel ya. I once tried to give a girl I liked something great, and she and her fucking friends just laughed, and laughed, and laughed...

..Fuck. I think I'm spiraling now..

But don't go play multiplayer if your trying to cheer yourself up. That is never a good ideal..

Try building things out of LEGOs and smashing them, or stabbing things... Yeah.. Stab things..

All of those... at once.

Sometimes when I get down I'll watch Beavis and Bitthead. They are childhood friends who know how to make me laugh :)

Edit: Or eat a good meal. Don't overeat or anything, just get a good steak or something.

Aby_Z put it best really.

I usually get laughs from stand-up, but not much from anywhere else. Put 'Live at the Apollo' into youtube.

Can't say I feel down much, and if I do it's not for long. That doesn't help I guess.. erm just get something to do and keep yourself busy.

Well Mr. Wesker, that's really sorry news, real sorry. I imagine your first mistake was playing MW2. In any case, I'm not going to force some "cheer up" crap down your throat. If I could take a guess I'd say it's a combination of needing a lay, needing some company, and needing something to get worked up about. Just find something you like to do that requires some long-term effort; like fixing a car, or (more realistically) getting a new RPG for your favorite console.

Also, this may sound insensitive or something, but seriously, just forget about that girl for a while and fool around with someone, even if they're a lot less attractive or interesting than her. Or you. Or your dog. It really helps you confidence, and can help you get in the game. And who knows? Maybe she'll actually be a keeper.

Throw a party! That'd solve all your problems, best case scenario.

(And I really do hope you feel better, no matter what I sound like)

For me playing thrash songs on the guitar really helps to distract the mind and get rid of any aggression.

Of course if you are unable to play a musical instrument then I suggest reading a book that you enjoy, eating and sleeping - basic functions to take your focus off your problems.

I have yet to kiss a girl, yet even be on a date.
*shame*
It just stings with the girl cause for once in my life, I didn't fuck it up. Turns out she likes the biggest douchebag in the entire school, and he humiliates me, on a daily basis.

Music helps a lot..and blasting stuff up. Try combining the two. I've also heard that ice cream drowns sorrows. Hell, try all three. Just remember you're still young and time will heal all things. (says the 17 year old...) *sigh*
