A forum like this with such a varied crowd makes for some cracking reading, are there any that stick out in your head as being worth a read to newbies ?

Any topic really, hell even if it's an epic collection of pictures of dogs wearing sombreros, if it stuck in your head lemme see. I find it's the quickest way to get a feel for a forum to find out what sort of limits there is on attitudes and outspokenness (I'm a pretty honest person, and in the past when going to a new place I've found if you're new and are not careful, simply being forthright with your opinion is a quick way to get ostracized)

I wouldn't recommend ANY old threads, because you risk necroing them and getting a warning.

Except the bubble breaker thread, which I'd not recommend for other reasons.

Well, newcomer! Jack recommends the Fallout-based roleplay (The Really Wild Wasteland) run by none other than Jack himself, because Jack is awesome.

Eh, you're description is a bit broad. Considering there are thousands of threads out there, I find it impossible to recommend any.

As a side note, has anyone noticed that there are a lot of old threads popping up?

If you're looking for a good time, there's a big ol' thread in R&P that's just a barrel of laughs.

Dont read [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.380059-dont-read?page=1] is, rather ironically, quite a fun read. At least in trying to figure out what the fuck anyone is saying.

I'll echo the Scientist of Colours. Take a gander at the GamerGate thread. It's a good laugh seeing two groups of equally silly people engaging in brutal e-combat. Kinda like seeing two high school bullies go at it.
