Imagine Augmented Reality Dating Sims

My roomie and I had a fun time discussing this hypothetical idea. Suppose someone took the idea behind Pokemon GO and created a dating sim or virtual girlfriend game where you met virtual girls (or boys) in the real world.
Basically:
- They'd have their own routines like NPCs from Skyrim
- You could call them and plan a meeting space, or find out where they are and what they're doing at the moment.
- You'd have to meet them "in person" and get their number before you can start calling them.
- If you wanted to buy gifts, you'd have to physically be in or near a store that sold those items
Just a few ideas.

Would the kind of people who play dating sims deign to go outside for this sort of thing?
Would going outside for the rest of us get any weirder?
Would you have any ideas of your own for such a game?

It really sounds like one step backwards from what I expect to be a future: Augmented Reality Sex Sims.

It quiet literally is all in one package. And I can bet my life savings that it IS the future.

That's what makes it interesting to me. There's already a niche market out there for virtual girlfriends, body pillows and other waifu material. Would the kinds of people who play "Love Plus" and others of its ilk be willing, or even interested in taking this outside for the sake of immersion, or would shame override the novelty of it?

Then again, since they're not a completely homogeneous group, the real question would probably be, how many?

Uh oh. Let's hope Niantic didn't pick up on that. Considering how good Pokemon GO was at getting people to walk blindly into things, the last thing we need is pokemon people feel compelled to stare at nonstop.

See that's why I feel it would end in disaster. Imagine the overlap group you're shooting for. 1. People who play Dating Sims, 2. People who are lonely/damaged enough to think a cartoon girl is actually in love with them, 3. People with places to go, 4. People with enough free time to play apps at the place they need to go, and 5. People desperate/shameless enough to play softcore porn games in public.

That's niche is ever I heard it. And God help us if two of them meet, and they've each fallen for the same girl. Nothing in existance has prepared us for two neckbeards fighting over Mimiru-Chan's favorite food.

Yeah but there are full on naked pictures of the girls you get as rewards. Pictures that would get me banned if I posted them, so just search HunnniePop Pictures. The first result is literally a porn site with a gallery of them.

Wow. I can already picture the headlines. A game like this really could do some serious damage. Friendly competition over pokemon is one thing, but a fight between two rivals over a serious faux relationship could turn super ugly. Now I'm seriously hoping this idea never becomes a reality. This is a serious recipe for disaster.
