One of my favorite games from childhood had to be impossible creatures. It let you fuse together animals and then fight them against other people's combinations. I just got randomly reminded of it recently and i was checking the internet to see if they were making another one, but Relic announced that they had no plans for it. My question is who else played this game and who wants to see a second one made.

I too, played Impossible Creatures and thoroughly enjoyed it. My question to you is, what's wrong with merely repurchasing/reinstalling the original and enjoying it as is?

Does it necessarily need a sequel? I would prefer to enjoy a game like that as I remember it from my late childhood (as you undoubtedly did), rather than have those memories tarnished by "modernization."

I definitely will do that though currently have a mac and I don't have microsoft installed so a bit of a challenge. It doesn't need a sequel, but it still can't hurt to make one. That is a good point though what do you all think they should put in one if they make it. Personally I don't think theres much that needs changing if anything just polling for general opinion

Huh, I was vaguely under the impression there was a second one. I've been living in a lie, it seems. Well, anyway, it was a nice game, I agree - there is just something satisfying in making your owlcrabs or flying alligators and the like. I never managed to finish it for some reason, can't remember why but I might try it again one of these days.

It's one of me and my mates LAN staples. Whalelobsters, Antrats, Eelsharks...

Good times man.

You had me at Whalelobsters.

I would imagine you could literally make a tigershark, or a squirrelboar.

Or the legendary Oceloctapus.

Oh I played it myself. Didn't like the story too much, too cliche. And the critters might have had so many different combinations available, but only a few really worked well. I think I used orca-tigers a lot...

Then I said "Screw it" and decided to just try and go all out on mix-and-match, trying out a buttload of different ones, even if some made it harder, and I had the time of my life.

Played a demo a long time ago, thought it had it's heart in the right place, and it was certainly it's own kind of fun, but I wasn't compelled to buy it.

Still, a very cool idea.

Maybe because of that mission when Rex was infected and your critters randomly went berserk?
I know that was my reason
Great game though

Edit: My favorite was definitely Dragonwhale (dragonfly had strongest bite from size1 animals, and when increased to size10 bite increase proportionally to something devastating)
Although lobster and chameleon blends were also great (lobster for regenerating amphibious frontline fighters, chameleons for invisible regenerating ranged creatures)

All my time spent on that game was in the creature creator. The story felt rather boring (or was too hard for me at the time) and online battles didn't work (we had no internet back then).

A second one would be cool indeed. Simply polish the old one, add more creature options, improve some basic mechanics, and voilà, the game is done.

Now you've given me the itch again :p

Exactly the same with me played it on this giant chunk of useless computer that had no internet. skipped on the story and just played bots, but spent most time screwing with different combos. I think you are right about the second one, more of a remastering than anything

I have it lying around somewhere. I remember finding it quite fun but I got stuck on a level where there was this volcano and you needed helicopters to get from one side to the other. I played the skirmish a lot though with friends, although that probably was more to do with me not having any other RTS games at the time.

You know, it's one of the few relic games I never played. Is it on GOG?
