To be honest I am really starting to get quite sick of people like this who seem to be following some strange stereotype that "violent" or "sexually explicit" games are the undoing of society and so are the people who play and make the games.
It is even more ridiculous when they compare the games to smoking seriously? you have to be kidding me here sure you do get the odd person who may get just a little bit too worked up when playing a game i wont give examples some may think i am just insulting a game but there is no major problem with games.
Violent games may be an issue if given to children but its not to say you need to write laws against it. I think it is up to the people raising the child to decide what is and isn't appropriate not just to go demonize everything you may consider the smallest bit violent or you see someone the slightest bit naked to be explicit or look at Lara croft or something and decide its sexually explicit by looking at how big her boobs are.
How far is enough? what one may consider violent or sexually explicit may be perfectly acceptable to another person it is unreasonable and wherever you are it just gives people who don't like or don't play games to further force people to think and act the way they want them to. i personally think that so many people out there not part of the gaming community still follow the same stereotype about us example as follows.
That we are evil fat sweaty acne stricken nerds who live in our mothers basements with no lives who uphold no value or morality when it comes to anything involving life. I think this is untrue many of us are decent human beings if not all of us and we play games to escape to the dullness and drudgery of every day life.
In real life i could not wander around with a broadsword they'd have me arrested for even carrying a kitchen knife even if it didn't have any magical stuff coming out of it
in real life i can not carry a gun but in a game i can carry several even with the crappy 2 weapon limit
in real life i could not get myself immersed in an awesome if not slightly impossible in real life story where i am acting it out and am all the characters i wish to be

There are thousands more examples I'm sure you could give but those are the most prominent to my mind.
i would like to know what everyone Else's opinions are when it comes to society and gamers even if you are a casual gamer.
