A recipe for a molotov cocktail. Any finns here? They know how it's properly made.

That's the game that "CTRL ALT DEL" talked about right? If that's the case, that makes me terribly sad as the game, while rough around the edges, looked pretty freaking sweet.

Edit: http://www.cad-comic.com/cad/20110603

This comic to be precise.

I don't know if any of you bought it, but it actually is pretty sweet, and this was going to be the milestone update that took them into alpha (map sections, NPC groups, saving, etc.)
Surprised this thread hasn't gotten more attention though...

Bump, I love how a thread about beards and mustaches is hotter than a thread about an indie dev being burglarized and then practically shit on by a lot of their fans.

Careful, bumping a thread for the sake of bumping can get you into trouble around here. Also, Project Zomboid is a pretty obscure title, so don't expect a ton of replies.

Anyway, it's unfortunate that something like this would happen. Hopefully they'll perform external back-ups more frequently to prevent such an event from happening again in the future.

You haven't seen the reddit thread have you?

And the thing is, they did have back-ups, and the update was almost done, they just forgot :(

The same people who drink from notch's toilet, despite the fact that he vacations more than he works...

Good god, these guys have the worst luck ever.
Ebay and google freeze their transactions, riots lock them out of their office, and now this? >_<

And the game is still getting constant updates and following its intended release schedule. I don't see the problem here.

Granted the Reddit posts are caustic, but it appears the developers haven't exactly maintained perfect composure themselves:

(assuming this screencap is authentic, of course)

I don't care if you're some small scale indie developer, you need to maintain a professional demeanor.

He's also very drunk right now, and did just get his privacy completely violated...

That's sad, but not as sad as the fact that they're making another bloody zombie game.

Project Zomboid could be the greatest game ever made and I still wouldn't play it. That's how sick I'm of zombies.

Not at all. This was apparently posted on his Twitter account for the world to see.

Granted the account has since been taken down, but the damage has already been done, with its legacy living on in such screencaps. That's why one should always be careful with one's words when posting on a public format like Twitter, intoxicated or not.

I don't have a vendetta against the man, nor am I trying to justify the degree of vitriol he's received. I'm just pointing out that the best way to handle the animosity would have been to ignore it. He shouldn't stoop to their level.

I was all for him until I read some of their twitter pages. I don't care if they are mad or drunk, they are being completely unprofessional and probably shouldn't be working in this field if they are incapable of taking criticism or backing up important items on an external drove.

More or less this, I felt sorry for them right up to when I saw the tweets... you just don't do that when operating a businesses of any kind T.T"

His twitters been deleted, now.

And YOU get hundreds of hours of work, and your security and privacy blown apart, and see if you act rational when people tell you you suck and had it coming.
