Ok,so i was playing a game of hardcore TDM and I came across a player on my team named "Infinity Ward". So I went to his profile and his name changed. Could this be an IW employee. I am confused. The video is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LqgMXsZN6V8

There was no need to make TWO identical threads for this...
This. It's hardly shocking. If I changed my Xbox Live ID to Bungie and then played a bunch of multiplayer Halo games, it doesn't mean I'm a Bungie employee.
Though 90% of the people will think it does.
Prepare for epic amounts of friend requests.

OT: I'm willing to chalk this one up as a rare coincidence.

No idea why the text of his name is red, though. I don't play online much.

Firstly, employees of companies are allowed to play their own games, though they usually don't (you see, creating a game is a very long and boring process).

Secondly, these employees have no imperative to have their screen name set to the name of the company they work for or anything of the sort.

Crack dealers don't sample their product, cause they know it sucks and it would make them a shitty person, I imagine it's the same with IW employees.

My guess would be someone who works on a game wouldn't want to be so open when playing with the masses.

Think about it. If someone has a complaint, they'll likely confront the person about them. And when it comes to games, people tend to complain a lot.

This will be locked pretty quickly.

Also, why would the developer ever have the need to have their gamertag as their company name?

if a member of IW actually played the game online, then maybe it would get somewhere. the employee would realize how bad the spawns are, would see all the damn glitches, would find out how goddamn annoying the game is, and maybe it would get fixed! but so far, i have lost faith in Iw.

This fits into my theory that 90% of those on Xbox Live are dribbling retards. xD
Well... There are certainly some foolish ones.

I won't debate that for a second.

I played mw2 with Shishka and Urk from Bungie once. They're pretty cool guys. We had a conversation about buying houses made of airplane parts.

at least GordanVanDyke from DICE actually plays bad company games and is seen by the community playing.

seen on 360 demo with all unlocks (because he helps make the freaking game) and become the amusing target of choice to pick up kits for.

I'm sure Infinity Ward DOES play MW2. Why wouldn't they?

are THOSE people IW? maybe. No real reason why it wouldn't be.
