Hiding was all the children could think to do. They'd been living their lives as normal when one day, gradually, things started to change for them. Mummy or Daddy started hearing voices, and then they'd have things taken away from them. First went toys and games, and then their parents claimed the corruption spread to their clothes - in some cases, even their hair had to go - all in an effort to protect mummy's beloved from sin. Little boys couldn't leave the house any more. Little girls were kept under constant watch, to keep them from partaking in any wickedness. And then one day, when things were at their absolute lowest for these poor boys and girls, the bottom fell out and things got worse.
"Yes, lord. I will do as you wish." A thousand parents mumbled, fishing around in kitchen draws for knives, heading out to toolsheds for shovels, reaching up on top of the high shelves for rifles. All little children could do was hide. But in a few lucky cases - a very select few - some higher force afforded them a means of escape. One little boy hid under his bed and found a trapdoor there which he was sure hadn't been there before. One girl jumped in her closet and found that the back wall wasn't there behind it, leaving only a tunnel to some fantastic world. This wasn't a fantasy land of magic and wonder, though. This world was dark. A featureless cave, characterized only by rocks and dirt and the dim light provided by the torches on wall brackets.
This girl had entered the Basement. And while it may have saved her life, very soon she'll find herself wondering whether it was worth it.
Alright. Sign-ups are open now. Let's make this good.

Alright, I'm back! Probably not for good, but ideally long enough that I can give this a good run.
This is an RP based on Edmund McMillen's Binding Of Isaac. You play as a child fleeing from one of their parents, whom has been "ordered by God" to kill their child to show that "they love Him above all else". This game takes place in The Basement, a surreal world outside any normal plain of reality. Your character found some gateway to this world through their house, and gameplay will start with all your characters meeting up with one another. Your character may have been in the basement for some time, or they may have only just entered, so you can play however you like.
I'm looking for between five and eight players. Sign-up closes next Thursday, so if you want to play get in before then. I'll pick either the best few, or just take everybody if I don't get that many applications.

One of the abstractions in BoI I've adapted for the purposes of this game is that upon entering The Basement, players gain the ability to manipulate liquids, like waterbending. This is most readily apparent in Isaac's use of tears as a weapon, but is also present in a lot of enemies' attacks, as they apparently shoot projectiles made of blood. Your character can fight using any liquid they can find, but they'll probably have a projectile weapon of choice (tears, blood, spit, piss or whatever you can think of), and in addition to this they can wield one power-up from the game of choice, a comprehensive list of which can be found here [http://bindingofisaac.wikia.com/wiki/Items]. If they've been in the basement for a week or so they might already be getting the hang of using this, but if they've only just entered they'll need to spend a while getting to grips with it.
Power-ups may be moderated at the GM's discretion - basically, if you want a god-tier item like Epic Fetus or Ipecac right off the bat, you can go get fucked. You find your initial power-up in the Basement, so if your character's been down there for a while they might already have it, or you might want to RP them finding one earlier in the game. Characters may find more items down in the basement as the game goes on. (Use of bombs counts as a power-up. If unlimited bombs is what you wanna have, pick "Pyro", but otherwise characters start without any. Other bomb-type power-ups like the Remote Detonator or Bob's Curse would have a limited number of bombs to start with.)

Appearance (basic stuff; remember, all your characters are naked, so stick to physical features):
Profile (little bit of backstory and a run-down of the character's personality; bear in mind they're about eight years old, but they've seen some shit):
