So about 8 years ago, I bought a set of glasses, 6 of them, each with 2 bands of colour in the base. I though they were really cool, and 15 year old me thought that they would do me well in the future for when I had my own place: they had style, and they were good quality. Earlier tonight, I dropped one, it shattered, and I feel angry at myself for being so fucking clumsy, but I also feel a sense of loss that something I still thought was really cool, something I had had for so long, and something part of a set, a mature purchase that I had made for a future I'm still kinda waiting for, is now gone.

So: am I weird? And also, anyone ever felt like that about something dumb like a glass?

I have many, many stuffed animals. If you hurt them, I will END YOU. I still sleep with the bear I was given when I was born every night. I still sleep with the Pound Puppy I got for Christmas when I was 2. Naturally, I still sleep with the triceratops I bought at Disney World when I went down there to pick up my new car five months ago. They mean more to me than about four people on the entire planet. As I mentioned in the infamous "Drowning" thread, if someone was drowning and my lion was in the water, I'd save Kenya without question.

I'm insanely attached to my little truck, for whatever reason. Yeah, I acknowledge that it's an older, outdated model, and yes, I also know that even in its time it wasn't the greatest thing ever. I also acknowledge that it has its issues, like a wonky gauge cluster, broken seat adjustment, barely-working air-conditioning, and older, worn radio unit, and some rust here and there. But fucking god damnit, it's my truck. You can't take that fact away. and I'll go to insane lengths to keep it up and improve it.

I'm attached to pretty much EVERYTHING that has been in my possession for some time now. I'm silly that way.

I've still got my surviving stuffed animals safely tucked away in a cardboard box in my wardrobe. I consider it an Ark of the Covenant. Those are not going anywhere.

I ought to give 'em a helping of mothrepellant, just to be sure. Maybe rig up a devious IED, in case of burglars.

My computers. Yep. Computers. Well, every one that I've built personally. I pretty much still have every computer I've ever put together myself. They are a history of my experience into the PC gaming world. I even name them. Sure I might love my latest build for the fact that I spent hours of my time searching the web for the best deal on parts, compatibility, capability, and reliability, but I'll always remember fondly the time I spent with my previous PCs, the games I've played on them, and the countless stressful benchmarks I put them through. There's just something about a computer you've put together yourself. I mean, I don't necessarily care for it as much as a person who is close to me, but I care enough that I typically won't let anyone else mess with it. My last PC is actually the first PC I've decided to give to someone else, which is my brother. It'll be nice seeing my work go to someone else for once, instead of having it sit in my closet somewhere.

All the tons of stuff I keep near my bed. Some of it comes from dead family and some has some fond memories attached to them, so I'd say I'm pretty protective of them.
