We've all come across these drivers on the road, sometimes even participated in these actions. I am wondering what is the most insane, possibly suicidal thing you've ever seen another driver, or even yourself, do while driving.

I saw somebody driving backwards down the highway in the wrong direction. Everybody was swerving to miss them.

On a side note I hate when people switch lanes constantly because of heavy traffic its accedent waiting to happen and it makes it so nobody can get near you cause you take up 2 lanes. Ussually when I see this I pull up right beside them and block them into there lane just because they piss me off.

I saw an old lady darting in and out of traffic in my rear view mirror.. We then got to a one lane part where I was going the speed limit. She was honking and honking, and finally drove off the road and then back on it in order to get past me, all while flipping me and the person in front of me off. The person in front of me was a cop. They pulled her over

Quite the experence for one of your first times on the road, I will say that.

On a two-way highway with only one lane in either direction. It's pretty annoying because the speed limit is 100 km/h and you always get behind some douchebag doing like 80. That said, you can usually get into a pretty big lineup when everyone catches up to someone. You can't go onto the road shoulder to pass but if there aren't any oncoming vehicles you can pass via the oncoming lane.

So my dad was driving and we were going to the lake a few years ago. We were stuck behind a guy doing about 90, about the third vehicle in the lineup of about 6 vehicles. Suddenly the guy from the back of the line took off into the left lane and started to pass us. The part that made it suicidal is that THERE WERE VEHICLES IN THE ONCOMING LANE and he had to pass 5 vehicles before he could get back into our lane.

Suddenly everyone in our lane started slowing down and going onto the road shoulder because we knew he couldn't make it in time. And we were right to do so because he almost had a head-on collision and that probably would have killed every single person in our whole lineup.

Today's lessons:
1. Don't be a douchebag, drive the speed limit.
2. Don't be a retard, don't pass 6 vehicles when you have less than a kilometre before more cars are coming towards you.

Easy. Bunch of friends and I did magic mushrooms. One "friend" {read: aquaintance} disappeared... later, he drove by. Fucking idiot. Maybe a year after that, he totalled his 2nd or 3rd car by driving home drunk and going like 150kph in a 70, sliding out on a turn, and rolling his car about 6 times.

For myself, easily the closest call I had was in my first car, a 1980 Datsun 280ZX. I was on a 2 lane (1 in each direction) highway. Came up on a big truck that was going slow and we had the "passing allowed" centerline. No traffic in sight. I "booted it" (this car wasn't exactly fast) but I think the truck sped up too... Suddenly as I'm basically beside the driver of the big semi, some cars appear over the hill ahead. I just barely managed to get in front of the semi and a huge Dodge Ram flew by going the other way. It was terrifyingly close and to this day I don't know if that semi driver was being an ass (speeding up) or if I was just being totally stupid. Regardless, I've been a lot more careful in those situations ever since.

Too many to count, When I was 16 I had a boss who wanted to back onto the highway with another teenage employee sitting on the trunk because she didnt have enough seatbelts to keep everyone INSEDE the car.
But im from Winnipeg, home of the worlds most confusing intersection and who recently put in roundabouts, many of which have no signage saying what direction to take and a few had to be pulled out because they were on bus routes and the buses didnt fit.
I have twice had people deliberately swerve at my car, once been deliberately rammed (well 3 times by one guy), had people try to park in the same spot as my car and get rear ended pretty much every other year once by a guy traveling almost 70MPH while I was at a complete stop.
I have a 25% discount on my car insurance for good driving behavior.

Here in Spain they have some pretty bad drivers, machismo and lack of proper instruction accounts for most of the accidents. Never stopping at intersections or roundabouts is common, potluck for pedestrians (lights seem to be a race most of the time)some ass overtaking on a corner into an oncoming car (that I was in) scared the shit out of me.

In particular though - I would never go in a car with my grandmother, again anyways. She drives like she's in a fucking soap; always looking at whoever's next to her and talking with them instead of oh I don't know, the road. It's like fucking bumper cars with her.

One time I was looking out the back window of my parents' motorhome, and I saw that the driver of the car behind me was both texting AND smoking. That's a collision waiting to happen.

Bad drivers are the reason I can't afford insurance. I've had my license for a few months, I am 19 and male, and insurance can exceed £6500.

Luckily it's going down as I'm getting older and having had my license for longer

I and some friends were driving in three cars, we were about 9 people I think.
When the left road was free I overtook my friend just for fun. Of course he couldn't just leave it at that, so he tried to overtake me but while he was trying to do that I accelerated and that idiot friend of mine went back to the right lane when he thought that he had enough distance to my car. Unfortunately he didn't have enough distance because I had also accelerated but he didn't look and drove to the right lane and if I hadn't done a full braking he would have hit the front part of my car with his back and he probably would have lost control of the car.

I live in L.A. so they're quite rampant here. I've seen people driving 115+ MPH darting in and out of traffic ignoring solid double lines and everything. I also saw one guy who treated red lights like stop signs as well; by that I mean he just waited briefly on a red then would cross the intersection or make a left turn.

In my opinion, everyone going faster than you is a maniac and everyone who is going slower than you is an idiot.

I was once waiting to enter a 3-lane roundabout and this is what I saw: on the innermost lane - a chap in a Subaru, the next lane - a big earth-mover type lorry, the outermost lane was mercifully empty in the the following moment.

The Subaru and lorry were alongside each other and approaching an exit. The Subaru suddenly decided he needed to come off at this exit. Instead of going around again and positioning himself properly to exit, he puts his toe down and cuts across in front of the lorry - literally inches between them. You could see the lorry shake and wobble and the driver shat himself and stamped on the brakes.

I swear, half the people on Britain's roads shouldn't be there.

On my driving test (fucker) I was going slowly because there were horses in front, this douche keeps beeping at me and the horses. Eventually he overtakes and right when he's next to the horses, beeps his horn really loudly. I thought it was going to kick his window in, he would have deserved it. I still passed.
