I read two of the Twilight books to try and figure out what it was all about. I'm pretty sure my mind would melt if I tried to read the others.

Science, psychologists, doctors, professionals. Take your pick.

Isn't that kind of a flawed question? I mean, do the insane realize that they're insane? How do I know my mind isn't already broken; that this isn't just my own little world, brought on by schizoprenia?

Maybe reality consists of cookie people, living little cookie lives in their little cookie cities.

HAH! We had to watch an episode of it in English class so it could teach about how racism is bad... I really wish I could just forget that class.

Reading too many books. The 1984 + Brave New World + V for Vendetta combination will turn anyone into a crazed conspiracy theorist.

Yeah, basically a sit down chat with a diehard republican pundit, a diehard democrat, a religious zealot from every major religion, and a pair of athiest scientists. Then plop down a stem cell and say: "Discuss"

But how do we know that we arn't the crazy people, and those select few actauly have a grasp on reality, and because we don't, they appear insane.

See you ARE insane...

OT: I?m not going to make a joke here let me paint a scenario

You just drank a potion to make yourself immortal so that you can save the world well you do save the world but later that day the people you beat locked you in a box and buried you in the 5000 feet underground no one will ever find you...

Now imagine your stuck in that box for 60 years and they get you out ... If I wouldn?t be insane by then I would have the wits of steel

That's sort of what I was getting at: Do the insane have an understanding that their minds are warped and what they're seeing is not reality? I mean, how do I know that I'm not insane right now, that this isn't some hallucination brought on by mania? There's no real way to know.

And in that case: Do the sane appear insane to the insane?
