I have. Fallout 3 seems much quicker to me. As does Mirror's Edge. Those are the only games I've tried it with so far. Also, don't try it with Halo 3, as it actually increases load times.Novajam said:I haven't noticed significantly faster load times whilst playing Fallout 3 installed on the HDD and I don't think it's as loud as it used to be. I can't really tell. However is is running a lot cooler. The only real problem is the amount of space it takes up on a 20 gig HDD really.
Usually about 7-8 GBs for a full game. (ex: Fallout 3)Danzorz said:Yay....Um how much on average will a game take up?(space) It weird since it costs $120 for a 60 gig drive.
Unfortunately, there is still a problem with textures popping in during cutscenes. It really doesn't do much for that game. I currently have Mirror's Edge installed, and it almost eliminates the midlevel load screens and smooths out alot. It really depends on the game.juandonde said:I don't know about you guys, but certain games that load data from the disc a lot (cough cough MASS EFFECT) would totally benefit from this in that it would help load times and lower the amount of noise that the 360 makes when the disc is spinning faster than a hadron collider.
Start your Xbox with a game in the drive, but have it set so that it goes to the dashboard when it's switched on (in the System Settings).TheNecroswanson said:Well, I guess this is the thread to ask: how do I download the game to the xbox?

On the My Xbox section, the first button will be for launching the game that's in the drive. Instead of pressing A, hit Y. You'll then get the option to install it.
You don't permanently install them. Some PS3 games do the same thing, like MGS3. You have fairly large load times while you install, but then the subsequent load times are much shorter. All you're installing is some local content, not a full image of the DVD. Plus, when you're done playing it, you deinstall it and install the next game's local content.Danzorz said:Yay....Um how much on average will a game take up?(space) It weird since it costs $120 for a 60 gig drive.
I think the Xbox 360 may indeed be imaging the disc; Fallout 3 comes on one DVD, and the disc image is close to 7GB on the hard drive. Also the console doesn't access the DVD during game play when running from the installed copy. (Except for the "check that the disc is in the tray to keep this from hoisting the Jolly Roger" thing.) It also takes only about 5 minutes or so to do an installation so there may not even be any decompression happening.xitel said:You don't permanently install them.
