Let me start this off with my own personal opinion to set the tone for this review. **WARNING** Too Human fans should look away! This game is an abomination. This game is one of the worst and most frustrating games I've ever played in my life, aside from Halo 3 and Two Worlds. I just wanted to get that out there for anyone who was hoping for a positive review. Now lets sink our teeth into the god awful meat of the problem.
The gameplay is god awful. The uncontroled camera is the #1 issue. Who's genius idea was it to have the right analog stick to attack?! What blind, deaf and dumb prick thougt that the right analog stick would serve better for combat than for camera control in a third person game? Thats like taking an FPS and saying "Oh, everyone uses right trigger to fire! lets make B control that while RT controls how massive of an erection you get when you snap your Too Human disc in half."
My next gameplay issue is the auto-lock on system. The combination of an uncontroled camera and auto-lock on was one of the worst ideas mankind has ever spawnd from its pits of game creation. Not only is your camera more focused on the detailing on the wall directly behind you, but your also locked on the an enemy 30 feet away while there is one only 5 feet away right infront of you (Though you'll never know it, seeing as you'll be staring at a wall or floor for 85% of the game). The auto-lock on system was a total failure in my honest opinion. (The whole game was a total failure for that matter.)
But perhaps im being too harsh. The game does have some positive qualities. Oh, wait, no it doesn't. The guns might as well be non existent. They barely do any damage to even the most insignificant enemy, and adding the fact that you are fighting massive hordes at once, using several clips of ammo per enemy can get rather fatal for Baldur. And to go along with this, you will die. Alot. When you die, a Valkyrie descends from Heaven (after playing this game i began to doubt the existance of such a place) and ressurects you after an extremely long cutscene that can not be skipped. After dying for the third time i began to question if this game was worth renting; after the sixth death i was nearly sprinting back to the store to return it. The only reason i saw it through to the end was for the gamerscore, which i am now ashamed of having marked on my gamertag.
Well, i hope you all enjoyed my review of Too Human. Peace and love,
