I've been playing a lot of FTL lately and the various runs I've done are all interesting, and I was wondering what kinds of adventures other people have gone through. Strange encounters, tense fights and memorable deaths are all welcome.

My most recent ship, with an Eragon themed crew, had a good run until we ran into a Rockmen ship in the middle of an asteroid field. Two of them teleported on board and started destroying my med bay while their weapons destroyed my weapon and shield systems, starting fires in both. This, plus asteroids taking out my doors and sensors, proved too much for The Saphira and she crumbled under the Rockmen's relentless assault. They will be missed.

Is this game something I should be playing? I missed the whole Minecraft phase the forum went through.

Until such time I cannot give you any stories, I apologise.

I finished up a fight in a Nebula hale and whole, just a little bit of hull damage. I'd just come from a store, so I figured I'd pop back and fix things up.

Didn't realize I had a couple of hull punctures in a room I couldn't see because, hey. Nebula. Everyone ended up asphyxiating.

Managed to get to the final boss with the starting ship... and got caught in an endless loop with neither able to win. My teleported troops had destroyed three of the four weapons systems, and my boarding drone was trapped in the fourth. All I had was a Burst Laser II and a Fire Beam, with no missiles left. I had nothing capable of breaching the shields, I couldn't kill the crew with teleported soldiers as they kept running back to the med bay, and the flagship had no remaining form of retaliation. I ended the stalemate by fleeing into the void, leaving the Federation to their fate.

On an entirely unrelated note, the captain of that ship found the Rebel colour scheme of orange and white rather fetching and subsequently painted the ship in those colours. No other reason, at all. Honest.
