Zero Dark Thirty will be released until February the 22nd in Mexico; Cosmopolis until February the 15th, other than rushed releases for the Oscars; why are some movies delayed so long for their international releases? that clearly encourages pirating.
Do other countries have such long waiting periods for new movies?

Argentina over here. Cosmopolis got released last December, I think. Dunno about Zero Dark Thirty. I don't think we have it that bad with international releases, except maybe with smaller auterish films. Case in point, Inland Empire opened up 2006 in the US but didn't make it over her till 2007, and it lasted exactly one week at box office. A pity.

And yeah, piracy is about as common down here as selling hotdogs in the park.

Games too!

OT: we have to wait 10 months for fire emblem: awakening to come here. Granted, we're first to get it outside japan, but it's hard to complain about release dates in the US.
