Does any one know where I can download internet explorer 6. stuff like firefox, google chrome and the current version of Internet Explorer are just too modern and are not as good as internet explorer 6
that is not a serous question and in fact it is a question I put there just for the hell of it. no one in the right mind would ever say that and seriously mean it.
the real question is do you use Internet Explorer?

No, I never use it. I switched to Firefox about seven or so years ago back when Internet Explorer was known for being atrocious. I have heard it's much better than it once was but I am now used to Firefox and so I don't see any real reason to switch back.

Although apparently Chrome is the new Firefox. I don't have any problems with Firefox though, and as mentioned before, I am comfortable with it, so I do not see any need to pick that one up either.

Weird way to ask, but okay :)
I use firefox at the moment. For some reason my internet explorer doesn't want to show certain texts on forums and constantly lights up words with advertisements. Firefox doesn't do this for some reason and I actually like using it.

Nope, never. Been on Chrome for years, will never switch back to IE. I haven't attempted Opera and I haven't used Firefox longer than two or so weeks. Chrome is the way to go for me.

Of course i use it... extensively. Just not at home.

But in a corporate environment? A lot of things are MADE for it and other free browsers might have small kinks - for example with security-guidelines,policies - automatic settings or just plain incompatibility.

Of course the IE does have that too. So that in some projects we need to have multiple browsers, so that the people can even USE all the ressources properly they need.

It's all a big mess.

But to give it a bit perspective: Just bashing the IE around to be cool on the internet: meh. Damn thing mostly works. Might have some annoying tendencies and craps itself. But Chrome or Firefox do weird shit too, sometimes *g*

(My Firefox locks up at work after a few days constant running, because it can't read its own history anymore) And Chrome is just a weird setup/configuration.

Of course not. I don't think anybody does nowadays. Internet Explorer is like vanilla ice cream; you're aware that it exists but you'd still never actually consider choosing it unless you don't have any other options.

At home I use chrome most of the time but I use IE for streaming because IE works better with silverlight. I have used firefox for about 2 years until it went boom and lost all my logins and bookmarks, at which point I swapped to chrome.

At work its IE, for the simple reason that its easier manage centrally and using AD you can push security updates to all machines easily.

Haha... no. I'm a Firefox user, myself. It's faster, looks neater and it works (mostly). I've tried out Chrome once or twice, but I really don't care for the interface and although everyone seems to say it's faster than Firefox, it never feels that way to me. So yeah, I'm comfortable with Firefox so I don't need Internet Explorer.

I use firefox, as the customisation is absolutely the best. Chrome might be easier and slightly faster but that doesn't make much of a difference to me, I value privacy against 3rd party trackers etc.

The only time I'll use IE is when there's nothing else installed on the computer or it's required to run a program. It sounds stupid but there are many applications that are designed to work on specific versions of IE only...

As someone who uses IE and loves vanilla ice cream, that post makes me quite the sad panda.

I use firefox, because of the add-ons. No other browser is so customisable. Also because IE has not shipped with OSX for years.

I guess I'd better clarify my post. What I meant was regular vanilla ice cream. Not fancy stuff like Häagen-Dazs. Their vanilla is the best they've got.

I use Internet Explorer.

On a Mac.

No, seriously. I do.

I'm a web-developer and our customers usually demand at the very least IE9 compatibility. And, since IE9 and earlier versions treat web-standards like an alcoholic drunk treats fine poetry ( by pissing on it ), I have to test extensively on the thing itself to make sure it all works.

As such I run Internet Explorer in a Virtual Box on a Mac.

I mean normal supermarket stuff. We can't all be ice cream elitists.

I'm still sad.

Because I love regular vanilla.

I'd make a joke here about the Vanilla Ice Cream Master Race but I'm afraid someone will misunderstand horribly...

What I will say though is: Vanilla Ice Cream, Best Ice Cream.

Oh God, I thought you were serious! No, I refuse to use IE unless absolutely necessary, and even then I feel dirty afterwards. I've successfully trained my parents to use Chrome, so that's two more souls saved.

Oh, this one is always fun.

Yes, I use Internet Explorer. Never got the hate; I've never noticed it being any less stable or slower than any other browser (except for version...7? I think - there was one version that was admittedly total arse).

Plus I always thought that all the people screaming about the virtues of Chrome and Firefox and Safari and Opera and and and were just trying to be anti-MS hipsters.

Nah, really, I hate tabbed browsing (one of the things people supposedly love about Chrome) and disable the fuck out of it on all new IE installs; and besides, I've never had the problems some people seem to have with IE and certainly not enough to warrant switching.

That was 6, the one in the OP. So many websites started putting background scripts that would give you malware just for loading their URL. It was so bad.
