Interracial Couples

I just got back from a vacation in Washington D.C. As you know the city is a major tourist hub and has tons of people from around the world year long visiting. Something I noticed (also back home) is that when I saw a couple that wasn't of the same race (the guy was Asian and the girl Caucasian) I found it odd.

Now, I don' mind interracial couples, but I've grown up in a society where people typically date or marry those of the same race.

Is this statement true where you're from or not? Also, leave an opinion on why you think that that is true.

EDIT: I don't care about race, I just almost never see interracial couples. OK?

A lot of interracial couples everywhere I've lived and that would be California, Texas, and Oklahoma

Sadly it's true were I live(mostly because it's like 95% white), but I don't have a problem with it, if they make each other happy why not?

I'm from California, so, I've seen some diverse couples.

It doesn't bother me, but it does ring as this weird kind of "different" for me, mainly because my folks, and all my friends' folks, are the same ethnicity as their spouse.

I know an interracial couple. And they are common in California.

I see absolutely no reason why I would have a problem with it.

You see interracial couples in Melbourne quite frequently. Two of my female cousins are engaged to men who aren't Caucasian. No big deal. They seem to be funny, intelligent, decent blokes who love their partners. What race they are is pretty irrelevant really.

I have no issue with it. Granted im more attracted to white girls (im white) but thats mostly becuse the girls i am around are pretty much all white.

I live in South Florida where it's very multiracial. To be honest, I've only ever dated one guy of my race ever (white) and that was when I was in north Florida for university. From my track record, I'd say I have a dating preference for Hispanic people (because there's a large Hispanic population here). I really just like sweet, smart, funny people (and that comes in any color/gender).

From California here as well as many others in this thread and there are many interracial couples here in fact I am currently in a relationship with an taiwanese girl (mexican here btw) so I have no problem against it.

It's not particularly common relative to the diversity of NJ. Personally, I have a bunch of mixed race cousins and no one I know has a problem with it. Contributing factors probably include the high degrees of economic segregation in NJ, and the economic disparity across racial and ethnic divides.

So obviously, I have nothing against it. In fact, I recommend it.

My family is diverse with one of my sisters being Asian/black.

Also, I've dated girls of mixed heritage. They are pretty hot. Trust me, interracial dating is strongly recommended.
