You've tried recharging it, I take? Try and reset it using iTunes, approach it in iTunes and there should be a button with a name along the line of recover, reset or what-not to factory settings. This'll delete all content on it though.

Same thing happened to mine. Pulling it into the computer seemed to fix it. It might just fix itself though. Once mine froze on the disconnecting thing it does and then three days later it suddenly was fine again. Technology can be a *****.

You can connect it, the question is will it work! So try it already! If you have, then I don't know what can fix.

yeah that's kinda what i meant but i guess i'll try waiting it out and if that doesn't work i'll try what my friend did which is scaring a store clerk into giving you a new one even without the warranty

This has happened to me a few times. What I did was, I just kept turning it back on when it went off to run the battery down. Once it was dead I synced it to the computer again and, viola! Worked like new.

Huh... that worked for mine when it went dead completely. Did this just come out of the blue or did you drop or bang it recently? It could always be doing this because of an internal problem.

Not recently but just before it got like this the music function wouldn't open
