Interesting interpretation of his iron fist glowing stuff. That tattoo looked a little much though.

And I am interested in seeing his costume. Even Luke Cage's original tiara and bracelets getup looks less goofy than Iron Fist's suit.

I bet costume-wise it will be very much like Daredevil. Early costume, if he even wears one, will be likely similar to DD's just black clothes or something, and maybe the final episode he will don something more iconic to his character.

You know, this is the first Marvel TV show casting that I don't think looks that great.

I'm sure I'll like him more as I see more of him, but in this trailer he just looks like a huge dork.

I think it's the hair.

Maybe its all the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon, but Iron Fist usually comes off as "chill", ya know, not Spider-Man snarky, but not all serious face all the time. I worry that this Iron Fist might brood too much.

Visually I think he looks fine though.

I'm pretty excited. I liked Luke Cage. But I think it's been the weakest of the series so far. I mean still really good but I like JJ and Daredevil more. I think Cage is better interacting with Jessica Jones and Danny Rand than bouncing around on his own.

I'm excited too for more Kung Fu. Cage and JJ are good but neither really fought with much style. If there's anything like DD choreographing it'll be a treat.

I like how Marvel is jumping feet first into Magic in the MCU, with Dr Strange, Ghostrider and the Darkhold in Agents of SHIELD and Iron Fist in the Defenders, while sowing some seeds for it in Daredevil.

I agree. Though as far as costumes goes he's is pretty easy to reflect in an adaption. Given him a green and yellow tracksuit and have the chest open to show the tattoo and it's pretty much there (except the mask).

I hope next batch, maybe fuse Luke Cage and Iron Fist into one (maybe longer) series, ala Heroes for Hire. Hint at it in Defenders by having them be like "We should work together" or something. I love MCU cause I love the crossovers. Whats the fun of a shared universe if no one shares it?

Im not as big into Iron Fist as other characters, so Im not as much of a purist for him. Hell, Im fine if they dont give him a true costume, and just have him wear alot of green and yellow. Luke Cage tends to forego a costume, and if they do hopefully pair them up, Id imagine it logical to have that rub off on Danny. Not like Jessica wears a costume, and Daredevil does it to protect his personal life. But Iron Fist kind of grew up expecting this, unlike the rest of them, so he doesnt have as much motivation for a costume as they do anyways.

Yeah either Powerman and Iron Fist. Or Heroes for Hire (With Colleen Wing and Misty Knight as well). With occasional Jessica Jones because Luke + her relationship in the comics is great.

I get Daredevil wanting to mope on his own. But the rest are very interconnected and should really just continue on crossing over.

Cage's costume is pretty much just a yellow shirt in the comics so yeah. Danny can also wear more traditional eastern style clothing in green and gold and that might work too. The mask isn't completely out of the question Daredevil did quite well with both the black mask and his replacement.

I am pretty resistant to alot of changes heaped onto comics these days, but I do honestly like alot of the practical modernizations. Super-Hero costumes are silly, and I like how Marvel in particular has done pretty good with costumes being more logical and practical. Scarlet Wicth didnt need a face frame, and Captain America doesnt need wings on his head.

Im fine with ignoring the title of "Powerman" altogether, and Danny can be fine in just sporty clothes, since I dont think either need the armor as much as Daredevil.

Personally, I want hem to be truly incorperated into the grand MCU. I dont care in which direction either. I mean, I want Luke Cage and Iron Fist in the movies as Captain America's New Avengers, but I also want Kingpin to antagonize Spider-Man, maybe causing him to team up with Daredevil (though maybe after he ages a bit, cause Kingpin doesnt fuck around).

Hell, before Ghost Rider was revealed for Agents of Shield, I had fantasized a later Defenders series with them teaming up with Doctor Strange and Ghost Rider to battle Mephisto or something. (Since Strange was a founding member of the real Defenders). I suppose it could still happen. Would be a cool movie.

I disagree about the wings. I agree sticking out ones would have been silly. But the helmet looks strange without the decals he has in the First Avengers or Age of Ultron/Civil War or the Chinstrap too. His Avengers I costume looked funny from the neck up.

I think Powerman is great as a name Luke Cage hates. Like the papers call him Powerman and Danny teases him. Something like that.

I do agree they need some more acknowledgement in the movies. Even if just a brief scene of them protecting new York while the Avengers are fighting Thanos or something would be cool. But yeah their Kingpin is so great you could put him in a Spiderman movie.

They still could do something with Ghost Rider given the Agents of SHIELD one is Robbie Reyes. Have you been watching AoS this season? It's quite good. The last 3 seasons were just so mediocre. But this is great. Almost straight out of the comics Robbie Reyes Ghost Rider, Jeffrey Mace is the New SHIELD director and they're inventing Life Model Decoys. It's really fun comics stuff.

I havent watched it, at all. I was hoping it would be used to show off C-List and lower heroes, but apparently they took their time on that.

Also Robbie Reyes...? Meh...less interested now.

Yeah they really did. Though Quake is in it with her comic powers.

This season looks promising. If it actually turns out to be good I'd recommend skipping straight to it.

Robbie Reyes works really well for this show. It means they don't have to address whether the non-MCU ghostrider is canon or not. Leaving it open too if Marvel wants to reboot it or use him in Netflix.

Reye's having a car instead of a bike also fits their budget. As you can show the black car driving around menacingly. But the best thing is when he does go full Ghost Rider it looks great. Amazing on their tv budget.

Im pretty sure the Nicholas Cage films are non-canon cause fuck them. Robbie isnt Ghost Rider...like at all. No passing of mantle, unrelated spirit, hell hes not even a reboot of Ghost Rider (not that that wouldnt annoy me more) he just is an uncreative character who they didnt want to think of a new name for.

I think Ghost Rider, like The Punisher would be best done attached to something. Again, as I said, perhaps with Doctor Strange (and maybe others) to team against Mephisto who is an enemy of both Strange and Ghost Rider.

If they do get hold of Fantastic Four, could also work in Doom's mother's soul somewhere.

Oh they're definitely not cannon. But like this side steps it all very neatly. It's not a reboot or sequel. Kind of like how the start of Incredible Hulk doesn't directly acknowledge the terrible Hulk film but doesn't retread the same origin story.

As you say Robbie Reyes has no real connection to Johnny Blaze. So better they use Robbie Reyes here where, than waste Johnny Blaze, Who could get another movies or Netflix series or something.

I think as I said before Dr Strange is really going to be the jumping point for establishing the MCU has magic. Like they made Thor, an Alien with technology so advanced it seems magic. But now they have to have magic with Dr Strange. It's why this season of Agents of SHIELD is dealing with magic. It will also make the magic of Daredevil and Iron Fist seem less out of place.

I wish the FF would go back to the MCU. That way we could have Doom as the next Loki or Thanos for a lot of movies to crossover. It's really the only treatment Doom deserves.

I guess thanks for sparing me bothering with Agents of Shield, since Ghost Rider was my entire motivation to watch it.

Doom AND Fantastic Four are both integral to Marvel. FF dont really shine on their own, but rather when they are involved with Marvel as a whole. And Doom is cool because he ISNT a God or Space Entity, but still reaches for such heights. I also personally like villains like Doom in such worlds.

I havent watched Luke Cage yet, but my brother said they mentioned Latveria, so...I mean...Latveria...

Doom is great because he's so versatile too as a villain.

You want a supergenius to match wits with Reed Richards? Doom.
You want a master sorcerer to fight Dr Strange? Doom.
You want a guy in a high tech battle suit to fight Tony Stark? Doom.
You want a rival King's nation to be a threat to Wakanda for Black Panther? Doom and Latveria
You want somebody who owes Luke Cage money? Doom

Okay that last one was a joke. But it did happen.

And if you need someone to be the big villain for a crossover like Secret Wars? Make it Doom.

I'm not super into Finn Jones. I mean when he was announced I thought "Yeah, that could work", but seeing it in action is...not great.

He doesn't look like a kung fu warrior. He doesn't even look like a wealthy businessman. He looks like a underfed office drone with bad hair.

The Iron Fist special effect looked cool, though. Superhero TV shows always seem to crap out on the special effects, so it's better to keep them simple and looking good than complex and looking daft.

I've liked all of the Netflix series so far, so I'm sure I'll enjoy this one too. However, my least favourite series has been Daredevil's second season (the first half with Punisher was great though). When it moved from interesting crime drama to mystical ninja stuff, it hit my interest fairly hard. I know that there's plenty of other stuff in the MCU that's way crazier, but compared to the show's first season as well as Jessica Jones, it kind of came across as campy. The reason I bring all that up is that this show seems to be in a similar vein.

Maybe they'll knock it out of the park though. They're definitely capable since Jessica Jones has been my favourite part of the entire MCU since it started.

Well they certainly aren't sugar coating it if the latests Dr Strange trailer is anything to go by. 'The Avengers deal with the physical, we deal with the mystical.' My only worry so far is that Dr Stranges trailers are so far the only Marvel trailers that haven't grabbed me, I thought Guardians Of the Galaxy would be stupid (I mean a walking tree and a talking Racoon) are you fucking kidding how can they make THAT work? Yet as each GOG trailer launched I loved the look even more but not so with Dr Strange.
