Hey all I need some advice about the Playstation Vita.

Lately I've been thinking about purchasing a vita and I'm not sure if I should grab one or not. There seem to be some decent games out there for it and I'm going overseas during the holidays so I need something to get my gaming fix during those long flights when I'm utterly bored. So to those who own a Vita is it worth the investment? If it is what games would you recommend?

Let me ask a question:

Do you like JRPG's? If you do then I say yes, get a vita. The best games for it are JRPG's. You have Persona 4 Golden, Final Fantasy X collection, Demon Gaze, Tales of Hearts R. If you like Monster Hunter clones then I's suggest Ragnarok Odyssey ACE, Soul Sacrifice Delta, Freedom Wars and Toukiden. Then there's Danganrompa if you like murder mysteries.

If you love quirky Japanese games then yes its quite worth it, a large chunk of the Vita's library of good games is essentially based out of JRPGs and similar Japanese stuff like Danganroppa and Virtue's Last Reward and Earth Defense Force, it can also play a ton of PSP games which you can check out too since there's some gems hidden there and if you want to feel nostalgic you can grab the HD ports of God of War 1-2, Jak trilogy, Metal Gear Solid trilogy, and Ratchet and Clank trilogy (and Final Fantasy 10!). Being able to play Borderlands 2 on it is also a very cool experience.

Just keep in mind though the Vita's future is pretty, err, uncertain overall and while not looking bad, its certainly far from great. The only stuff coming out for it in the future that I've spotted so far are mainly ports and Gravity Rush 2 which isn't really all too hot if you ask me, Sony also pretty much blatantly stated they're not going to focus on bringing out that initially promised Triple-A experience for the Vita anymore because they're a bunch of asshats and don't know how to properly support a system its not viable for them.

Its otherwise a great system though, I love mine to bits, and all the extra functionality like the back touchscreen and stuff has been put to great use in some games and I'm loving having some of my favorite old games in my pocket.
