I want the opinion of the general public, is battlefield 3 any good? I can't afford many new releases a year and I am afraid it will be too much like call of duty. So I ask you, was battlefield 3 worth 60/100/120$? I've gone tired of mindless shooters.

The multiplayer is really immersive, what with all the sounds in the game. It's best played with friends in a squad. Otherwise I tend to feel a little bit lost. The game requires a large amount of thinking about positioning. I do something similar in Cod, but because the maps are so large and there are so many entrance points, I tend to think a lot more.

No. I bought it, returned it the 3 days later. That's my opinion. Others may disagree. I finished the single player. played a bit of multi did not enjoy my experience at all. Single play had WAY to many QTE in it for a FPS. Multiplayer the guns didn't feel right, vehicle's handle like drunk rhinoceros's on unicycles. Controls are unintuitive. All in all did not enjoy the game.

Some of my friends love it and praise it as their new god. I personally did not enjoy it.

you have to really be in the mood for it, as Jzcaesar has already pointed out tits best played with friends. if you go on this game not in the best mood for it you might find yourself raging alot, though i find it hard not to be in the mood for it

Compared to BF2, BF3 so far does not seem near as good. There is no longer a Commander's position, the jets and choppers have been completely nerfed and if you don't want to play in a certain map you have to completely quit the game and start it back up again to get into another server when the round is over.

I've been more pissed off and frustrated at this game than I have had fun.

The game is the most fun when you have four friends playing with you at the same squad. Just don't bother with Rush if your not into mindless shooter's, the Conquest mode is the core of the game you can just play for hours and hours on the same server and hope that none noticed you between the two big rocks and the bush.
Although the game is pretty good it has flaws, like the hit detection is sometimes off, it lags on some servers, the menu interface is horrible.

graphics are amazing
gameplay is solid and balanced
single player is meh (it feels too much like cod)
aside for that bf3 is a serious game and competition for cod

It is really fun, but if you're tired of shooters, you likely will not like it.

You just can't be serious that BC2 is better. I just refuse to belive this. BF2, fine, a thing of taste, but BC2...?

Get the game, it's awesome. Ignore the medicore SP, treat is as a bonus and dig right in into the awesome multiplayer. You should try the smaller maps first (that are still bigger then anything You ever saw) and move in to the 64 player matches.

Awesome game.

Hell no HELL NO!! I did not mean bad company 2, I meant Battlefield 2. Where did you even get that impression from?

An aspect I really like about BF 3 over any of the COD games is that it is extremely difficult to play as a "one man army". If you want to succeed, you actually have to work with others, which makes it stand out in my eyes.

Although I love it, I probably wouldn't bother if you're sick of FPS and in a lack of funds. Although it's quite different from CoD it's foundation is still kill kill die kill die die kill die.

i enjoyed the infantry combat immensely, but read that the vehicle combat really messed up the multiplayer so i did not make a purchase of it.

As im sure youve read, the single player isnt all that good, scripts, QTE's, LENS FLARES!!!!!, its a good little aside, but not worth £40 just for sp alone.

Multiplayer is a ton of frustrating carnage ridden fun. Played for for 37 hours now and the unlocks just seem to carry on the intrigue. If you like MP, buy this.

It's far from the run and gun style of game play for most FPS's. You need to take your time and think things through. Sure you get the occasional "one man army" guy who decimates entire teams or the vehicles might not work right. All in all it is a great change in pace from other FPS's. Just be warned, If you aren't use to how most BF games play, there is a large chance you will get your butt kicked. BF3 takes some time getting use to it. In my opinion it is worth it.

Its kinda meh, the MP lacks polish, Frostbite2 and 1 just aren't consistent especially in things like navigation through maps.
