Recently I saw some tron legacy figures for Disney infinity and it instantly made me want to pick it up. I know very little about it besides it's sort of a Disney toybox kind of game. Can anyone who's got it tell me if it's worth picking up?

I've got Disney Infinity 1.0 and 2.0, will be getting 3.0 this xmas for the kids. From playing it along with them, its a decent sandbox tool for young kids; my kids that play it are 5 and 7. There are premade "playsets" which are worlds that they can run around in completing missions along a theme for the playset, such as fighting enemies in the Marvel universe, or Pirates of the Caribbean, the Incredibles, Monster U, etc. Version 1.0 was pretty simplistic, version 2.0 added some skill tree development for the characters.

There bigger part is creating your own game world with premade pieces that you collect over time to add more options. There are also parts that can be tied together to add switches, moving parts, chests to give rewards, and some rudimentary AI behaviors on enemies that can be tweaked. I haven't really gotten to far into the gameworld building as whenever I am messing around with it my 5 year old precedes to throw me off cliffs, but I would say its simpler than Little Big Planet in game building, but still some potential there for building some games.

My kids really like it, and would recommend it if you have kids that like Disney and want to sandbox/build stuff. However older kids/adults looking to world/game build may want something a bit deeper in complexity.
