The logo looks just plain... wrong...
And then the name infront of it "wee"

just see the picture and you'll understand...

I've used a cartoon to illustrate it, and to keep it civilised (so no photos)

No you're not the only one but it is damn funny. Damn you OP! I'll never look at it the same way again! And that's the first time!

DAMMIT, now I will never be able to not see that. As if the name itself wasn't hard to take seriously as it is.

Thanks OP, now that Wii U logo is going to remind me of N.A.M.B.L.A. or some other national pedophile party henceforth.

I actually thought it looked more like a logo for toilet cleaning products, but this cannot be unseen.

I see that as a collective audience we're already trying to reduce Nintendo to toilet humour again. I thought we'd gotten past this once everyone stopped sniggering at the name "Wii".

Honestly, the collective maturity of the gaming community disgusts me sometimes.

Well gee, thanks a lot you guys. Now I will NEVER be able to unsee that. Points for using Shin-chan in the image though. It's certainly appropriate, given the maturity of the matter.

Hey, Ninty doesn't help. Remember how the Wii's successor was supposed to be named Stream?

I mean, Wii? Stream? Next what? Flush? XD

Anyways, the controller is shaping up to be pretty interesting. And I can confidently predict that the PS3's and XBox360's successors will have screens on the controllers as well, you just wait and see... '-_-

*facepalm* I'm a great fan of Nintendo, but I do wonder sometimes what goes on in their heads... just why? Why of all names "WiiU?"

I know they did kinda shoot themselves in the foot, but it's just annoying how much people are focusing on the things the name sounds like or reminds them of. Here's Nintendo, one of the biggest (maybe even the bigget, I dunno) gaming companies in the world, trying to get back to hardcore gamers and the mature, serious hardcore gamers of the world are too busy sitting at their computers snickering about "it sounds like body functions tee hee hee."

It wouldn't surprise me if next E3 Microsoft has mysteriously abandoned Kinect in favour of touch-screen and Sony... actually Sony are pretty set, touch-screen wise at least, with the PSVita for now.

I mean, remember the rush that happened after the Wii brought motion controls to the dance? Everyone rushed out to get them too, however misguided such a move may be.

Wow, I can't believe this had to be pointed out to me. Normally my filthy mind picks this stuff up right away.

Ah nintendo, you just can't help yourselves, can you?

I don't see the problem.
I'm on board with this post. People just blow petty crap out of proportion. "Omg, Wii sounds like wee, like urine. And a U can look like a penis! Nintendo is totally lame!"

When you see it like this, there's no problem. If you're not mature enough to not making toilet humour or dick jokes about anything, then good for you but it's stupid to hold this against Nintendo. It's a perfectly good name. Not ideal for a 'serious' console but still good.

I can't say I care. I will never buy this thing.

Captcha: I'm not going to put it exactly, but it was a frigging Japanese symbol!

Ric Flair would approve of the "WiiU!"

So do I, this thing looks incredible.

Do you not think it's for straight-up brand building via word of mouth? 4 years ago, there was no one who didn't know what a Wii was, game player or non-game player, thanks to its stupid name. But people didn't not buy it because of its stupid name, did they?

They were never going to ditch the name 'Wii' and risk confusing their huge casual fan base. Wii 2 would not have worked in the same XBOX 2 would have been a bad choice with the PS3. Three being greater then two and what-not.

It is only a name...
