ok, in the last 4 months, i have basically been a grief counselor to 4 different people. one minute we are talking about games and such, and the next thing i know they are practically poring their hearts out to me. i mean, don't get me wrong, i'm happy to help but, really? does this happen to anyone else, or is it just me?

"It's never just you."

After people get to know other people they tend to start trusting them, which leads to them speaking what's more pressingly on their mind much more easily than to some random stranger. Everyone needs a release after all.

Happens to me occasionally. I just kind of jump on the grenade and wait, considering I have no good advice for any situation whatsoever outside of "I'm bored, what should I do?"
Play video games, obviously...why would you ask a gamer this...?

Some people are just natural shoulders to cry on. I too happen to be one of those people. Sure it's annoying but take solace in the fact that you're helping people through tough times.

I (half)jokingly call myself a human shoulder because people (usually women I am trying to get a date with) love pouring their hearts out and crying on my shoulder.

Don't tell me you are going in for the rebound?

OT: Was it uncomfortable for you to listen to them?

I, for some reason, always get involved in situations I don't want to get into. Thank my neutrality that I haven't picked a side and lost someone to someone else's fight.

I tend to end up as a listener when it comes to a lot of people that I know.

It's kind of funny... I'm always willing to listen when someone needs my help, but it's damn near impossible to get me to spill about my problems unless I'm miserable. And even then, I don't want to be a burden.

I'm sorry, but I've seen your posts quite often, and I practically adore your avatar.
I'm aware you get it all the time, but kudos good sir!

OT: I agree with my quote. Never assume it's only you. Happens all the time; but It's good to hear you're happy to help people.

Happens to me sometimes, but I usually find myself doing it to other people. Why yes, I am an angsty teenager!
