Every time I try to play a game on my it will start clicking at me and it won't recognize the disc. I got it recently and I have only been able to play three games on it...

My 360 does that for the RE5 DLC, and my box is fine, so I think you should be fine.

Yes its dead, you should aid its reincarnation by buying a PS3 and spiritually transferring its soul using rituals much like those in Avatar.

Alternatively you could ignore me and return it.

RROD is imminent... Sorry.
no, it's probably the OTE, which is just as bad as the RRoD except it's not covered in the extended warranty.

If it's not working then take it back. You should be able to get a full refund/another model.

I assume you did buy it new yes? I'm sure you can probably get them on selling faulty products if it's pre-owned.

Its crap like this what stops my buying a 360! The only console that has ever thought of letting me down like this was my dreamcast; Which already had a long fruitful life. My brother says he's gone through about 3 already...bollox to that.

A PC would be a much better way of making sure that your console's immortal soul livs forever than a PS3.

OT, yeah, it's dead.

probly something in it is broken
specifically, the laser has come loose within the DVD drive. The clicking sound he's hearing is the DVD drive trying to move the laser into position and failing to do that.

sounds like you have a dvd drive issue, how old is the 360? if its past warranty it will be something like 50-99 dollars for repair.
As much as people like to complain about Microsoft support, I've had few issues, If you have it registered at xbox.com its a very easy process to setup a repair case, get a label sent and such.

By the way, yeah, expect the RROD.
It happens to all 360 users at some point.
Never happend to me, On my pro launch or elite, My elite got e74 and was fixed by MS support free in 1 week 2 days.

this problem is completely unrelated to the RRoD.

that being said, it's for all intents and purposes, probably a brick.

If the disc drive doesn't work, there's not much you can do.
