Are there any games that have a similar tone or message about sci fi shooters to what Spec Ops talked about with military fps?

Call of Duty: Black Ops/Black Ops 2. That's the closest thing I can think of. Though they're far less railroady and manipulative than Spec Ops.

Black Ops II in particular. The main villian in the game is one of the most sympathic I've seen in a shooter, or a war game.Ambient_Malice said:

Its star wars republic commando . Though the tone and the message is light , it is still there .
It about the hard life the soldiers live and how order have to be followed .
It's the best fps I have played to this day and is huge fun . The game is a 9/10 .

It would have worked better if they had actually finished the rest of the story, what was going to happen in the sequel was the good part.TheArcaneThinker said:

OT: I don't actually know that many sci-fi shooters. I mean, I cant name any that havent been mentioned already. Well there's one, Bulletstorm. It kinda might be like Spec Ops? Its pretty brutal, and the protagonists do (more of did) things like Captain Walker did, and pretty much every soldier is a stereotype of crazy 'murica people. I'm assuming that the message you are talking about is anti-war. Maybe if you could be more specific as to what you consider the message of Spec Ops to be?
