Hey, I hope this is the proper sub-forum for this.

I was looking back at some posts when I noticed that some of the threads I've been looking for are gone, they aren't accessible and I'm just left with the 404:File not found page and I haven't found any success looking for it in the Internet Wayback Machine site.

Does anyone know any tools or ways that would give me a better chance to find this thread?

That usually only happens if the thread has been deleted. And a thread is usually only deleted if it violated the site rules to a large enough degree - either the topic itself or the replies. Normally, all other threads (which is over 90% of them) should just be left alone, as of recently, they are automatically locked after a set period of time, which meant that a large portion of old threads got locked recently.

That's how it's supposed to work - I don't know if that's how the system actually works. If you think a thread shouldn't have been deleted (it didn't grossly violate any rules), then you may be better off contacting the site staff to try and look into it. Especially the tech team.

I do think it's important for there to be archiving, so I do hope how I think the system works is how the system works.
