Is there any reason I shouldn't punch you?

Well, it's that time again. Time for me to dip into my money and buy myself a new game. So off I go down to my local EB Games store (located 35km away) and buy myself New Vegas for $89.95. "Great" I though, "I can't wait to go home and get this bad boy installed". So imagine my surprise when I get home, try to install it and find out that the Steam activation key has already been used. So now I'm in the line for Steam support trying to get my product to work. This isn't the first time that the EB store has kicked me in the balls and it probably wont be the last.

So, my question to you is has a game retailer repeatedly screwed you over but you still go there because it is the only retailer a reasonable distance away from you? How have they screwed you over and would you like to punch them in the face?

Nope, nothing like that's ever happened to me before. You don't go back to a place that's wronged you though.

You should just go back and demand either a refund, or a replacement.

No, I only get good stuff from GAME. Except one time, when they sold me something for £10 more than the advertised price they had (but it was Timesplitters 2, so it doesn't matter. Much.).
Although, Blockbuster has sold me faulty games in the past, but I just take them back, and they replace them, thankfully.
And Blockbuster is the closest shop that sells games >.>
10 minute walk from my house, luckily.

Well, at the moment I'm try to get the code registered to my account so that it saves me a round trip of 70km. It's pretty much the only game retailer near me though. The only other ones being Kmart and BigW whose PC game sections consist entirely of The Sims and their expansions.

Nah, the local places I buy from and Amazon are cool with me. If you don't plan to play something the day you buy it, I really recommend buying from Newegg and/or Amazon.

If they fuck me over, I go back and raise hell.
Don't we all?
(Nice avatar by the way ;D)

O: Do you like Renard? :D

And I wish we did, companies need to be kicked in the metaphorical balls more often.
Renard is one of my favourite music artists!

No, if I receive a substandard product or service for anything I get a refund, speak to or send a letter to their head office, & never deal with them again.

If the distance you have to travel is a problem, have you considered digital downloads from companies like Steam, or buying by internet/post?

I have, but I lack a credit card (I really should get one one of these days) and I like to have a physical copy. But buying from the internet isn't something that I have considered. I suppose that it is something that I should look more into.

The people from EB actually saved me a disaster-ish thing. Was going to get Stranglehold and the guy advised me to open it in the shop right there and then because a CD he bought in a similar case got all scratched up unopened. Sure enough it was ruined before it was opened and no money changed hands. I like that guy from EB. Also the store manager was pissed his games game prescratched.

No I actually have never been screwed over by a game shop. Usually the opposite happens. I'm just friendly with the cashiers and she was looking for a used game and the guy went to grab one and she said no not that one the good one.

I coulda kissed her.

Plus one time i bought a used game, and the unlockable DLC code hadn't been redeemed yet. SHWING!

Nope, I tend to buy my games online. UPS can find my house juuuust fine... and amazon customer service is really good about returns over issues like that, in my experience.
