It Begged To Be Tried.... And I can't believe it actually worked

Partially inspired by a Zits comic, mostly inspired by my story.

So here I am, all comfy, feet up, soda opened, ready to play Fallout 3 on my big screen for a few hours when the unthinkable happens: The remote for the TV is on the other side of the room on a tiny table.

My master plan: Staying in the same position, I grab the edge of the rocking chair and pull it around so the horizontal piece that's sticking out a good 3 feet can hook the leg of the table, use physics to swing the whole thing over to me where I grab the remote. AND IT WORKED. Granted, the room is now a disaster as the table fell as soon as the mission was completed and its contents went everywhere, but it worked. I immediately threw my arms in the air and yelled YES several times in victory whilst feeling like MacGyver crossed with a Ninja.

So what about you ladies, gents and in between? Any stories of elaborate schemes for simple tasks? Idiotic ideas that actually worked? Or failed? And no, I totally didn't just make this thread because I had to tell someone that story instantly.

When I was a youth I was led on my bed watching a film and wanted to turn the light off but couldn't be bothered moving.

Had a bright idea of throwing a slipper at the switch to turn it off.

So the slipper was launched, straight through the open door into the face of my sister who was bringing me a drink.

I didn't get the drink. But she did turn the light off for me.

Using my brothers nerf gun to turn off the lights in my room, there's a 50/50 chance i'll hit someone in the face when they walk past my door.

Been doing it for 3 years now, Getting kinda good at it.. But I still hit people in the face with it

I always keep a dog toy near where I sit. The reason being is that I always seem to drop at least one piece of food on the way to the couch and never notice until well after I am comfortable. So I just pick up the toy, get the dog's attention, throw it near the food, dog goes to get it but notices food instead and eats it, everyone's happy.
