I have a summer job working at a local amusement park cleaning the bathrooms (insert laughs here). It never fails that at the end of the day, just when i have my bathroom sparkling clean ready to be locked up for the night, some guest comes around looking for a bathroom (can't really turn them away...) basically this thread is about things that really irritate you and always seem to happen.

...that your passengers don't have to pee until *after* you clear the driveway.

I'm a janitor and some teachers wait until after I've taken out all the garbage I need to to throw away a large amount of stuff.

Basicllly the same as the OP. I'm a retail assistant and people always seem to want to come in and browse at 5 min to closing time. For like 20 min. And not buy a damn thing. Go home!

People who, once they've established you're willing to give limited discounts on certain products, walk around and ask for big discounts off every single thing they pick up. I had one guy yell at me cos I wouldn't sell him something for less than cost price.

And just recently, people who come in because it's cold and ask when we're putting the sweaters on sale. Not in the middle of winter, Sir, it's called supply and demand. If you want to hold out for summer then be my guest.

When I was a cashier at a grocery store and just turned off my light and people would still flock to my register.

Actually, after the first five minutes I would tell them that we were closed and that they needed to leave. I wouldn't even ask if they needed anything before I told them that, I would just say, "I am sorry, it is 9 o'clock, we are closed, I need you to please leave." Sometimes I would be nicer, but if someone would come in at 8:59, and say they were just browsing, I would be straight-up with them "Well, we are closed, if you would like to browse, you can come back tomorrow."

I worked at Radioshack in Los Angeles, so we got away with that, though...
I wish!! Actually at one of my jobs I can do that but the other one is a small family business that relies on regulars and word of mouth, so I feel kinda guilty turning people away. I know if the manager was there he'd let them stay and be all friendly, cos he needs whatever business he can get. So my inglorious compromise is to let them stay but pack away the 'open' sign and sulk until they leave.

... that's just as good right?

This is why I hate retail.
