Will the Vista be obsolete, then?
Apparently vista will be supported for like 2 more years, and XP is going to be supported for like another 5 or 6.

So basically, yes from what I know.

On the one hand, it's sad that as shitty as Vista is that it had such a short run. Seriously, with the price of an OS these days and the trouble with getting everything compatible, I'd have pegged Vista for at least another two years.

On the other hand...
BOOYA NO MORE FUCKING VISTA!
I quite like vist though...

maybe windows 7 will be the one they get right, it seems to be every other os they get right or at least do a good job on, hopefully they learned from their mistakes and don't pile more crap on us and hope we take it, like they did with vista

will windows 7 be better or will it be filled with as many problems as vista?

If Microsoft can't handle backwards compatability then they need to shove off with all these new OSs.

None of them bring any new functionality to a common user yet they make all past software obsolete or non-functional. I'm too worried to buy a new laptop right now because I'm worried my old copy of after effects won't work on it.

If all these random Linux clients can emulate old Windows environment you'd think Microsoft would figure that crap out as well... oh wait, but then they couldn't resell mine sweeper and solitaire to us.

Well then. I'm glad I haven't bought Vista since they are apparently giving up on it, not that I wasn't glad before.

I hope Windows 7 gets things right, and I hope they give it a better name than Windows 7.

Oh they will get it right. With apple pissing them off everyday it seems that they really should. But did anyone read the bio on the author of that article? *shiver*

it's proof positive how badly they messed up vista, i personally think they pulled another windows me with vista

they tossed a "finished" sticker on it and shipped it no matter how bad it was because windows 7 was so far away and xp had been out for so long at that point already

Vista really is not that bad - i have had ZERO problems or issues with it since i started using it (about 1 year after it's intial release) - and all the old software i used with XP (office, photoshop, dreamweaver, flash etc...) all work with it flawlessly - not to memtion my vista machine is 10 x faster than my xp machine (and my vista machine is not a powerhouse by any means)- my brother was the same way - never used vista before and would always say "vista sucks" - i would ask him why and he couldn't give me a reason why - then his old pc broke down and he bought a new one with vista - and now he loves it.... i still dont see why everybody hates it so much - was that 1st year really that bad?

Vista...sucks. After using a Windows XP computer for so long, I can't find everything, it demands more juice to be sucked from the computer, and it generally just sucks. I mean, you have to search "Folder Options" under the Start menu, rather than just having a bar IN a folder.

So yeah, sad to see a OS fail so quick, but on another hand: YYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

eh...Vista isn't so bad after you get used to it. I never saw much incentive though to go out and pay for it when XP was still fine. That and FUCK PAYING THAT MUCH FOR AN OS!! it's why I'm glad my bro is a technician. I hope 7 redeems vistas flop though.

The only problems I've had with this computer were because of programs sucking (Internet Explorer) or things that had nothing to do with Vista (video card dying). Vista has been flawless otherwise "BUT OMGZ U NEEDZ 2 CLIK "ALLOW" WEN U DOWNLODE SUMTHING~!"
