The mayan calender is supposed to end in decemeber of 2012, and thats wrong, someone forgot to carry a zero somewhere and its actually something stupid like 2500.
OT: One of jupiters moons splits in have, one chunk heads for mars the other for venus, a short time later a spaceship appears in the nevada desert bringing a message of peace, only thing is it turns out its a von neumann machine and its buddies spend the rest of year planting fusion bombs on fault lines at the oceans bottom. the von neumann machines bombs bust up the Earth, fortunatly an alien faction rescue a couple thousand humans at the last minute, turns out they split jupiters moon for the ice inside, 100 years later mars' atmosphere is breathable and sustaining a human colony.
