It's been a year, Escapist.
A long, lonely, heart-breaking year.
It was around this time back in 2011, maybe around February, even. I had noticed the topics discussed around the site becoming less profound and interesting to me, and had started to move my interests over to the image-hosting site Funnyjunk. For a while, it was a great move. I laughed at the content, had a great time in their comment sections, and they had a permanent thread set up just for Bronies. I had just taken an interest in the show, and was there pretty much every day, less to talk about ponies than to just shoot the shit with other people. Several of us were even part of a Killing Floor group that met every weekend.
Also around that time, I had just moved out on my own. Due to financial troubles, an ungodly commute (120 miles everyday), and being sick of dealing with the mental abuse my VERY Christian parents heaped on me, I disowned my family and left. They told me to get a second job (despite working FULL-time) to support them, because my dad was too picky to take what employment was available; so I packed up everything valuable, stowed away in a shitty motel for a month, and found a (tiny but) wonderful apartment for myself.
Since then, Funnyjunk has rather fallen apart, I became a micro-meme, I've become borderline alcoholic, my Credit score has taken a swan dive, I FINALLY upgraded my computer, started a Youtube "Let's Play" channel, and I've become incredibly alone (but personally better off).
Even though some of m'verygoodfriends from this site have been, banned... I decided to come here tonight and have a look about again. From what I can tell, most of the newer people who were causing trouble back when I lost interest are gone, and the threads on tonight are interesting and full of discussion value. I'm enjoying it here again, and I can't help but feel I've missed too much. :/
