I've decided, much to your suggestions, to play wow in the coming months. Now I have to pick a class.

The classes that interest me the most are:
Rogue
Warlock
Paladin
Now I want to know which one will have the most end game capability.
And don't worry, I know all about grind...I've played maple story...to lvl 90...Yah, I'm serious. Which is about 180 hours of game play.

Rogue - Stab things, stealth, cheapest class alive for PvP.
Warlock - DoT things, summon demons, throw shadow bolts at people.
Paladin - Likes to go from over powered to under powered to over powered. Can tank, dps or heal. Destroys rogues like it is nothing(if you don't completely suck.) Easiest to level(as ret) but also most boring to level.

Paladin, raiders will want you so badly for healing. Tanking is very easy too, especially now everyone likes to aoe mobs in dungeons.

Heres an idea. Uninstall and trash it that game blows.

You could wait til Cataclysm and roll a Goblin/Weredog thingy. But if you must play now choose a healer class (so pally) as you can do all the most needed things (heal/tank)

Warlock = easy street. I played mostly Druid, it was hell. Pally, kinda hell (typical comments were "U cnt tank!" or "pally sux @ healz, lol"), rogue = "ganksauce".

Locks, pretty much have the game dominated. Fear/Dot/other CC, rinse & repeat. And remember, the server you pick will make all the difference.

I feel such pride shame for my insight.

im waiting for the werewolve class
Its actually a race and I cant wait for them. This might just make me go to the alliance.

O.T. I like the pally i have one and he is pretty good to use if you have someone else with you. Even if you don't you can still hold your own.

does that mean rogues are good or bad? I personally wouldn't be able to stand being a pally because I wouldn't really know how to heal or tank.

Pally tanking comes down to;

a1) Throw shield if enemies are at range
a2) Consecrate

b) hit either your 'shield slam' ability, your hammer, and at some point your Judgement.

Repeat.

All right, sounds easy enough. Pally for versatility? I could easily make a new character if I hate it...

Rogues are incredibly good for damage dealing but they can't fill other roles. As a result, you will ALWAYS know that a rogue in your party is supposed to be DPS but you will NEVER know if he's any good at it until you're in the fight.

If you want to learn how to heal and tank then start doing instances early so you can figure out the mechanics of either role, whichever you pick. Once you have the basics down then it's just practice, practice, pracice. Learning how to deal damage is easy, you just have to keep your threat level down so the baddies don't target you and not pull mobs/adds unless specifically told to. There's also mana management in there for heals and caster DPS but I never bothered with that whole deal.

Main thing is, pick a class that you like to play. If you find yourself at level 20* and you still hate it then you may want to look at rolling a different class.

*40-50 for druids, they're pretty lackluster until then.

I tried playing a Rogue, but they for me were more of a PvP class...did great with PvP for them...not so much PvE. They are fun...but heh

Paladins are favorite of the month, so everyone and their grandmother has a paladin main/alt...they are really powerful right now. So that for me says AVOID...since they can at any patch, can be taken down many levels of power. Plus I hate playing the favorite of the month classes.

Warlocks is my main. They get to summon demons, so that makes them great for PvE right there...voidwalker is awesome for leveling. Then they get DoTs, so you can put spells on multiple enemies that damage them...I generally kill at my level, 6-7 mobs at once. I typically get 2nd or 3rd position in damage, occasionally 1st if the group isn't that great. In PvP, they again have a lot of utility...for voidwalker, you can use the VW to create a shield which protects you from damage...GREAT against melee. They have fear...and countless other abilities

I'm biased toward Warlock if you can tell ;)

They all have endgame capability. All will be desired in one form or another for raids. The question is what you want to do.

Warlocks are ranged caster DPS, generally with a pet to take care of and monitor. Back in the days of TBC, warlock raiding didn't have a pet. We just sac'd it. They've since changed it and you need to take care of them.

Rogues are stabby stabby. They sit behind the boss and rip at its ankles for the fight. Occasionally OH SHI- tanking with evasion when the healers don't keep the tanks up because they're all noob scrubs who need to learn to play and fucking heal me properly.

Paladins are...well, they can do one of three things: Melee DPS in a similar vein to the rogue, but with a different skillset/tactic/gearset, healing or Tanking.

I'd pick a paladin. Fecking boring to level, but they're almost always desired, they're solid and you can have sextail.

Please for the sake of the game, play a Warlock. The last thing the World of Warcraft needs is another Paladin.
At least he's not playing a hunter.
