Kinda of a 'Cracked' style article about Japanese gaming from the 80's

Missed out a few. I'd like to have seen Frogger, Spartan X, Shinobi and a few others in there. Still glad Metal Gear and Final Fantasy made it!

Yeah, I guess. But Street Fighter II wasn't all that different from Street Fighter I. It didn't bring much more to the table, only a huge list of characters to choose from. The innovations belonged to Street Fighter I. As far I know, gotta admit I never played it. Clocked in countless hours on SFII's SNES port though.

Edit for retardation.

I also disagree with Street Fighter 1 being there that game meant nothing to most people Street Fighter 2 had a much more prolific effect and is rightly regarded as a classic the only reason Street Fighter 1 is even relevant in any way is because it in some way led to Street Fighter 2 i.e it was successful enough that Capcom wanted a sequel although apparently they did not get what they wanted at first and only got SF2 when they did not ask for it if you believe the story anyway. Before SF2 I suppose you could say it was Karate Champ that more defined the genre but that was not a japanese game I believe regardless SF2 defined the fighting genre not SF1.

But SFII is where the bug that gave birth to combos in fighting games comes from, isn't it though?
