As of last night The Lawsuit of James Romine Against James Stanton has finally reached it's conclusion with Romine removing all legal actions against Jim Sterling.

I for one CANNOT WAIT to hear Jim talk about this as he has largely been keeping quiet until it was all over by counsel of his legal people

For now here's someone else talking about it while we wait.

EDIT: here's a link at the top of the page to Jim's statement. More to come in time

http://www.thejimquisition.com/a-statement-regarding-romine-v-stantons-dismissal-with-prejudice/

EDIT: Ah here it finally is

Still not gonna make Valve actually implement a form of quality control in Steam Greenlight or the new Steam Something that is gonna replace Greenlight.

Good, I am happy for Jim. Hopefully we will never have to hear from DH ever again. I am still not all that confident in what is going to happen to Steam though.

Before this whole clusterfuck, I didn't know Jim Sterling was a pseudonym. Thought it was his real name. The more you know...
His real name is "Jim Fucking Sterlingson" and don't you forget it. ;p

Errors have been made. I stand corrected.

Indeed, Digital Suicide unintentionally immortalizing Jim as JIM FUCKING STERLINGSON! is probably the most worthwhile thing to come out of this shitshow.

Then again, The Romine's thinking they could legally strongarm a juggernaut like Valve into surrendering the personal information of their customers, basically on the grounds that they were big meanies, was also particularly humorous. Then again, with the US legal system, it might not be that farfetched.

well to paraphrase Jim, "people always act like they got something on me by calling me by my birth name. Thing is I don't go by Jim Sterling to protect myself, but because that's what everyone calls me. I think the only person to call me James is my nan."

Ahh, I didn't know that. Did you know Yahtzee Croshaw is a pseudonym as well?
His real name is Obi-Wan Croshaw

Good, I think we know what the next Jimquisition is going to be. So what are the Romine brothers doing to support themselves, now that they've tanked their shitty little LLC?

I heard, and partied all morning. I thought it would never end, but here we are, waiting for the fruits of the bullshit labour he had to go through. Hopefully he can share the whole experience.

Yeah, they refuse to have human moderators for some reason. One insider on Total Biscuits vid about Steam Direct mentioned that it's too tricky to manage, but I can't find a decent answer for this yet. Valve are hell bent on finding an automated system that works well enough, and while many are cautiously optimistic, I can't see it working either, unless they raise the price for entry to something ridiculous (I hope they don't :p).

Hell, it's about damn time. Glad to see it wasn't the little whimper we thought it might've being the Jim VS Court mega thread, but a full frontal "Dismissed, fuck off and don't do it again." Wonderful, simply wonderful

Pity Jim still has to pay his own legal fees. Romine should have been made to carry the can for the whole absurd saga. Can't wait for the next Jimquisition, you know he's going to go ham on DH.

Id say having to pay up for every project you try to publish on Steam is quality control enough.

Breaks the news on SidAlpha's channel, giving the scoop to someone who recently came to Jim and the internet's attention due to DMCA BS. This isn't just trolling, this is advanced trolling

$100 wasn't enough to keep phony projects out from Steam Greenlight. And making $1,000 higher doesn't dissuade the insidious (they make much more than that). At most it would keep home projects and joke games away, but that's not what saturates the Steam catalogue right now.

Well I think he's taking it as a win considering the millions DH wanted from him.

Yeah, Digital Homicide won't give up. They'll find other thing to demand Jim for, and we'll see DH lawsuit II: Electric Boogaloo; because they are firmly convinced to be in the right, and that justice hasn't been served.
