As to minecraft being an example of gameplay over graphics, I tend to competitive games at lower resolutions as to lower the chance of strain on my machine. It doesn't matter how good a game looks if you lost because you skipped a frame.

Great show this week. These days I am mostly on my 3DS or my PC. If I do break out the Playstation, it is usually for the PSN Classics.

This whole 'controversy' is just absolutely silly. What I want is great gameplay and compelling storytelling -notwithstanding Minecraft and Civilization, where you create your own story- not this ridiculously narrow-minded argument.

If I had to guess, I would say it might also be due to the fact that some people are always looking to quantify the unquantifiable. That is, they are trying to prove that their subjective view of a game is better than someone else's subjective view of a game. This is why we tend towards pixel counts, frame-rates, or CPU bits back in the day.

I'm pretty sure who argue that 720p is better than 1080p are the self-same individuals who claim that the human eye can only see at 24fps.

Meh. Maybe it's just me but...I never really gave a shit about graphics. What's the FPS? Is it 1080p or higher? I really don't care. Is the game good? Can I play it? Ok, let's go. Dark Souls is 30fps? When that makes the game less fun, I'll care........ok ok, Blighttown, I know.

Though I do kinda appreciate the irony of bloated budgets finally collapsing in on themselves.

i never cared much for consoles and didn't own a TV for the longest time so when my friend told me that 720p means 1280x720 i couldn't suppress the superiority laugh, 720p is a resolution i run on my backup/office PC.

also this, if i play something online and it drops under 60fps i will lower the settings, i don't see the pretty after the first 5 hours anyway.

First of all, you're literally fucking delusional if you think shooters play better with a gamepad.

Secondly, if I actually wanted to use a gamepad on my PC I CAN DO THAT, I have a fucking PS3 controller that I use to play emulated games with, if I wanted to use it for shooters I could.

But I don't since literally every single test has shown that people using Keyboard and mouse always wipe the floor with people using gamepads, even IF the gamepad users have aim-correction.

But it's okay, you can keep spreading your delusional console propaganda, we both know you're never gonna accept facts even when they're plainly and obviously available.

You know, I can't help but feel that your retort to a rather simple comment was way more vicious than it needed to be. Seriously, was something like that really worth getting angry over?
