A Core i7 6700K processor GTX 660 and 16 gigs of ram. It's not exactly ready for VR, but I rather like it. So, I'd like to know what PC games you guys would recommend. The only games I'm not interested in are mmos or multiplater heavy games, like Overwatch.

I already have:
The Arkham games
Skyrim/SE
Tomb Raider
Civ V
Xcom: Enemy Within

Edit: Enter key is my enemy

Just curious, why didn't you spring for the most recent graphics cards?

Anyway, I would get a game to test your rig. DICE games are usually cheap this time of year. If not, Witcher 3 maybe?

Yeah, why did you get the GTX 660? Unless you got it for $50 or you live somewhere where you couldn't get anything else it's really not worth it.

You said you got Skyrim, you did not say you got Morrowind, and I always like to recommend Morrowind. Neverwinter Nights is also great if you want a game that is the most true to DnD ever. Also Planescape: Torment is good too. Arx Fatalis is also a neat game if you want something a bit different. It was made by the people who eventually made Dishonored...get Dishonored too.

Terraria! Got to get Terraria. Mount & Blade Warband is also pretty great.

Sorry if you were looking more for newer games. I mostly use PC for older games. Not because I cant play newer games, I just prefer them on console usually. Oh, and DOOM 1 and 2, cause every gamer should play those games in their lives. Id also reccomend Duke Nukem 3D, but "Go Fuck Yourself". Gearbox's words not mine. They dont sell the good version anymore.

And these are all games on Steam or GoG. Some are on one but not the other.

depending on how much you like RPG's, I would go through and buy all of bioware and obsidian's RPG's, between origin and GoG you can get the *vast* majority of them for a cheaper price.

Also as far as rpg's go:

Divinity: Original sin (enhanced edition, but I think that's the only edition they sell now?)
^amazing turn based rpg, the gameplay is gold that's been polished perfectly.

I actually tried Witcher 3, but couldn't get into it. I guess I could give it a shot again. My cousin loves it, so I may not have given it a fair shake.

I received the 660 from my cousin, so I got it for free. I'm currently saving up for the 1080, but it's gonna take a while.

That is one hell of a list. Dishonored and GTA IV are the only games I've played in this. I've also played Far Cry 4, so would it be worth it to play the 3rd?

I have been interested in getting into Marrowmind since reading a post I believe you made in some other thread. I'm specifically interested because magic is disappointingly boring in Skyrim.

Divinity: Original Sin is a game I've seen around. All I really know about it is that it has very high review scores. Is it anything like Pillars of Eternity?

Marrowmind? :p Thats an interesting one. Sorry, had to point it out. Anyways, If you feel like giving it a shot, I obviously recommend it, but I know it can be hard to get into, especially for people who started with later games like Skyrim.

If you need any help or anything with it, feel free to ask me, and I will do my best to oblige. Once you get past those initial hurdles, its such an amazing game, that I honestly have yet to see topped.

If you like multiplayer shooters even a little, get Overwatch. If you like them a lot, get CS:GO.

If you like zombie survival/crafting games and don't mind early access, 7 days to die is pretty good.

If you like hack and slash, don't mind 2d graphics and furry characters (it's not a furry game though) Dust: An Elysian Tail is fantastic.

If you like crafting/survival games in general I can really recommend Subnautica or Space Engineers. (Both early access though, but already really good games.)

If you're looking for a free to play mmorpg I can recommend ArcheAge or DC Universe online (just don't expect endgame to be as fun/viable without subscription), Elder Scrolls Online or Guild Wars 2 (Though you need to buy the games once)

As for magic in Morrowind. Yea, it's a lot more interesting. For one, you can create your own spells by mixing and matching effects.

kind of, divinity original sin (in my opinion) *nails* turn based rpg gameplay and the creativity is endless on how to tackle situations, pillars of eternity focuses a bit more on the story if I remember right (but they are both an isometric style viewpoint)

That clip is the first battle you come across at the beginning, just to show you the basic setup. Later on you recruit friends and have up to a party of 4.

Depending on your resolution you may not need a GTX1080. If you're playing at 1080p then a GTX1060 or RX480 is enough. And I can't imagine that you're playing at a higher resolution right now with a GTX660.

It looks a lot better than I thought it would be. Don't know why I never took the time to watch some gameplay before. It's definitely going on my list.

I've been spelling and pronouncing that incorrectly for so long that it's difficult to get it right. Even while I was reading your earlier post I read it as "Marrowmind" instead of "Morrowind". Anyway, Morrowind and Divinity: Original Sin are at the top of my list right now.

I've actually considered the 1060, since it's so much more affordable, but my uncle and cousin are bad influences on me and my wallet. At this point it's 1080 or bust. I may say "fuck it" and just get the 1060 anyway.

It's definitely worth it, on GoG right now I believe it's half off (20 bucks) if you're looking to get it, I'm sure by christmas it'll be on sale again though.

Also towards the beginning there are a few...odd quests, there is one sidequest that is time sensitive believe it or not, and the first town you reach kinda needs to be done in a certain order (for example, if you go north, most of the monsters are level 10 and will rofl stomp you unless you go take care of a few other lower level quests first). So just a heads up it might be worth reading a quick guide on the first town.

Dragon Age: Origins
Mass Effect 1-3
Dark Souls 1-3

Those are my favorite games from the past decade.

Congrats on the build, and definitely agree on the card upgrade. I think Portal and Portal 2 should be in everyone's library, as should the Mass Effect trilogy, and a case can be made for Fallout 3 onward.

Since you mentioned X-Com, I might also recommend The Banner Saga; the music and artwork alone make it worthwhile. (X-Com 2 is a no-brainer, of course.)

You said no MMOs, but surprisingly decent and 100% free is Star Trek Online, great for fans of the lore and might soften your stance on MMOs a bit (there's a lot you can accomplish on your own).
