Just discovered the Preacher comics

Oh my days, they are amazing!
Bought the first four volumes. Violent, funny, amazing characters, well drawn, brilliantly scripted and thought provoking.
Can anyone recommend me some other good series? I'm fairly new to the comic book thing so feel free to talk to me like I'm a simpleton

They are magnificent.

Sandman by Neil Gaiman ,Watchmen by Allan Moore ,although i think you might have read them
Also V for Vendetta (Allan Moore) is fantastic

You might like Wanted, although it is short. Try Y: The Last Man. Wanted is similar to Preacher but Y is not like Preacher in any shape or form action-wise; it is pretty well written. The Walking Dead is good if you like classic horror films and Dr. McNinja is great for a laugh.
