about an hour ago, and Everyone survived, I played as Adept, upgraded all ship parts, had everyone's loyalty(Bar Miranda, she got into a fight with Jack) romanced Tali, but romanced Liara in the comic. had Legion go through vents, Jacob lead fire team, then Miranda lead fireteam,Mordin evacuate the crew, then Samara do the Biotic Bubble and had Tali and Garrus on my team the entire time, I have yet to do LOTSB because the crew got kidnapped before I could and I wasn't about to let Scotty- I mean Engineer Donnelly Die. I blew up the base, told TIM to piss off and played about 90% paragon to 10% renegade. So is this me being good at the game or a noob being ridiculously lucky(I didn't use any guides)

I know this just sounds like me bragging but it's not supposed to , so my question is this: how was your 1st playthrough of ME2 and what happened at the end(I.E. who survived, was the collecter base destroyed) and WTF is up with the army of reapers flying through space towards the Milky Way at the end about? why didn't they just go in like that in the original ME and we would have been spared the Terminator-Reaper-prototype thing at the end?

My first playthrough was awesome. Got a good 33 hour game, everyone loyal (except Jack, lost her in the fight with Miranda), all ship parts upgraded, and Shadow Broker taken down. Mostly Paragon. Everyone survived too. I finished at about level 26.

As for my team in the suicide mission, I had Tali in the vents, Miranda lead both fireteams, Mordin evacuate, Samara do the biotic thing, and my team was Jack and Grunt for most of the time. Right before the final boss I switched to Tali and Grunt if I remember correctly. I kept the collector base, but I regretted that decision pretty quickly.

I've started a second playthrough already with the same character on hardcore. I can already tell the difference in difficulty and I haven't even recruited anyone yet. Planning to go renegade this time though.

I call it The Reapinator

And in my playthrough everyone lived (including the crew), played through it fairly neutrally, and destroyed the base.
Oh and I romanced Tali too.

During my first playthrough, I had Legion go through the vents, Garrus lead the first fireteam, then Miranda, had Zaeed evacuate the crew, Samara for the Long Walk, but I don't remember who I had on my squad with me most of the time. The only people I lost were Jack and Zaeed, since I hadn't done Zaeed's loyalty mission and Jack got in the fight with Miranda. I think that was bugged for a while -- I was suuuuper close to having a full Paragon meter and I STILL couldn't convince Jack to like me :(
Destroyed the base the first time. Then I realized that was stupid and kept it in other playthroughs. I lost some of the crew because I still needed to do Legion's loyalty mission, though. That sucked. I figured more would die if I stopped to do Zaeed's so...yeah, he died. I wish the whole countdown thing after getting the Reaper IFF was more clear.

Zaeed and Miranda got killed. Miranda wasn't loyal and Zaeed made a mess out of leading the strike team. Played as Paragon and destroyed the base. Second playthrough I manages to keep everyone loyal and alive.

Now I'm on an Insanity run and I've just finished Horizon. I'd heard a lot of people had trouble with the Scions and Husks at the start of the last Horizon battle but strangely I had no problems whatsoever.

I don't know what Bioware wanted us to feel with that, but it made me laugh my ass off. Its just so... silly. Not the Reapers reproducing, but the fact it looked so damn silly.

OT: Everyone lived. Everyone had full loyalty, ship was fully upgraded.

Garrus led both Teams, Legion went through Vents, Mordin escorted crew back to ship, Jack made Biotic Bubble. My team was a hodgepodge of people. But last group was me, Garrus, and Legion.

Don't worry, Miranda is a ***** anyway.

First time around I lost Mordin and was proper gutted. Replayed, everyone survived, I blew up the base and gave the Illusive Man the middle finger salute.

I kept everyone alive and chose to destroy the base.
When I played on Insanity I did the exact same thing.

Modrin died for me as my only fatality, but reloaded a save and played again and everyone survived. Changed Modrin leading survivors back to Jacob, and made sure I had one of each member in my squad, or that they'd take on some responsibility.

If you thought that was easy, try Insane mode. It's not even funny when you get effectively insta-killed by the Scions.

First playthrough, I lost Grunt and I destroyed the base.

As for the Reapers, their normal way of getting to the galaxy was through the Citadel Mass Relay. Shepard destroyed Sovereign though, who was supposed to activate the Mass Relay allowing them to easily get there from Dark Space. So the Reapers I assume have no other way to get there other than flying which takes a lot longer than simply transporting themselves there.

This could work in Shepard's favor, as he will have time to get the galaxy prepared for the invasion. Otherwise, the sudden Reaper invasion through the mass relay would've caught the galaxy off guard and assured their annihilation.

In 1, the Reapers were planning on using the Citadel relay to just casually pop in but that plan went south so they were left to coast in from outside of the galaxy whilst the Collectors do their best to screw with the killers of the first Reaper. Takes a while, flying titanic distances without the relays ;)

I had a great first playthrough as well - everyone lived first time (I guess picking Morodin to head back was a sensible choice after all ;) ), did just about everything, and REALLY enjoyed biotic-ing the shit out of stuff ^_^ didn't do much of that in ME1...

Blew up the base too - I'm really interested in seeing what difference it makes in ME3. Going to take a second character all the way through the first, going Renegade for the second time through ]:)

It is a shame, because the concept art for it was quite good.

OT: Miranda, Jack, Jacob, Legion and Tali died. Tali was disloyal because I gave the jury the evidence against her father, and Legion was loyal but died because Miranda couldn't hold the dumb bubble. Romanced and then saved Kelly. Saved the base in the end. Did slightly better in future playthroughs (ie, everyone lived).

I had Tali go through the vents with Garrus leading the other team. I had Zaeed go back with the crew, Samara for the Bubble, and Garrus again for the other team. I think I took Mordin and I think Garrus with me to the final boss.

Sure was real scary the whole time though. I mean sure, I upgraded this ship and got everyone's loyalty, but I was scared throughout the whole thing. Choosing the tech was easy, but the other leader felt like forever (Almost picked Samara because her description said she had 1000 years of experience, but then I remembered that the whole time she was alone. Then I thought about Zaeed since he had battle experience, but I wasn't exactly sure if he had enough to lead because of his personality. I essentially said 'screw it' and picked Garrus).

Same with picking the leader for the Distraction team (I almost picked Grunt for this, but maybe it?s because I thought 'Hey, if anyone could make a distraction, it would Grunt'. But then I wasn't sure if I correctly heard what the conversation in choosing the leader was about, so I chose Garrus again).

The whole time I was afraid I was going to hear over the com that someone died. Was really scared when it looked like Garrus got shot before the whole Hold the Line part, and was all "GARRUS NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!", but then he fine.

Felt really good when everyone came out alive, and I made sure to blow up the base. However, I spent quite a while in making that decision. I mean, on one hand, there was so much we could take from the base to help us. The other was that so many people died on the base, would it be right to use that information? Plus you know...giving it to Cerberus/TIM? So yeah, took me a while.

But I had a lot of fun with that mission!
