So Escapist, when was the last time you felt that karma really came out of it's way to bite you in the butt? Do you even believe in Karma? Share your views!

A week ago one of my mates from school was off sick due to a little earache, coincidently, on the same day MOH came out, a game he really wanted.

Me, being a dick, complained he was skipping school for MOH, which was fair enough in my opinion...

Today is the last day of school until the 2 week holidays, and I am currently off with Stomach Flu, also coincidently, the day before the release date of Fallout: New Vegas. I just received it through the post, and am determined not to play it.

I sort of had it coming, damn you karma!

It hasn't. For all my wrongdoings, I'm pretty damned good at avoiding the consequences of my actions.
Then I heartily look forward to the day you are hit by a whale. In the desert.

On topic: Back when I played online, I tended to be something of a dispenser of karma. I never specifically aimed for the trash-talking douche, but I tended to hit him just as he was about get an advantage.

At least I'll get some sweet daisies out of it.

Play the damn game, if you're genuinely sick than it's no problem. I don't believe in Karma (in a cosmic sense) or fate or any of that crap.

But I do believe in practical karma, obviously if you're a dick and piss people off it will have consequences. Likewise hopefully if you're nice to people and helpful, people will help you in term. But it's not cosmic comeuppance it's simple causation.

I've never really had karma bite me in the ass but I have seen it in action. A guy who used to make fun of me got cancer, that was pretty funny because not only did he have cancer but he also got fat from the treatment.

Isn't karma something to do with the sum of your actions in this life determining what you'll be reincarnated as, rather than the simplified action/reaction system from My Name Is Earl? My understanding is a little slipshod...

I don't really believe in it, except in the realistic way - be nice to people, and they'll be nicer to you and vice versa.

I once was pissed off about something and shouted at some kids trying to get a ball back from my yard. Later that day I couldn't get my mp3 player back from a teacher because of a bad score on a test.

...is that karma?

Okay, I can't resist posting this here:

Don't really believe in Karma.

For me it usually seems like life goes in cycles of good and bad. Usually if I have had a lot of good stuff going on I am bound to have something rally unwanted happen short after. (Usually ruining something I am looking forward to)

This is the same sense in which i believe Karma too.

Ironically, mostly I'm the one giving Karma to others.

To top that, I only got Karma'd once during a Halo 1 skirmish ages ago: I drove around with a Warthog roadkilling everyone in my way, then a Scorpion tank blew me into the air -while still sitting in the car- and I got sniped by a camper.

Maybe a Karma, but I'll be damned if that wasn't awesome.

I don't believe in karma, but I sort of wish for it. Seems like the dicks are the ones who win more often.

Karma does not exist.
Sure doesn't, but if it did then I must've done something right. I just got a new job that's full-time, so I'll be able to move out of my mom's house and get my own place. It's a security job, too, so I'm not even out of college and getting a start on my field of choice.

I don't think karma exists, just that these both things happens. Otherwise I'd be all up my butt with good graces at this point since I've done nothing to hurt anyone.
But than again, I've done little to help others.

Meh, I can't know. It's all philosophical, and it's worth respecting.

I used to be one of those PS3 fanboys who constantly bragged about how reliable the PS3 was, how it never broke down, and how I felt sorry for Xbox 360 owners for having a shitty console. I even had a friend whose Xbox didn't last as long as my PS2. (It lasted 2 yrs.)

Then my PS3 broke down a year and a half after I bought it.
